See-Saw Films has released a soundtrack album for BBC’s and the Sundance Channel’s mini-series Top of the Lake. The album features the original score from the seven-part series composed by Mark Bradshaw (Bright Star). Also included are songs by Howlin’ Wolf, Smokie, Straitjacket Fits, Georgi Kay and Split Enz. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips are available after the jump. Top of the Lake is helmed by Academy Award-winning director Jane Campion (The Piano) and Garth Davis and stars Elisabeth Moss, Holly Hunter, Peter Mullan and David Wenham. The drama is set in New Zealand and follows the disappearance of a five-months pregnant 12-year-old girl who was last seen standing chest-deep in a frozen lake. Temporary Residence Ltd will release soundtrack album for David Gordon Green’s indie comedy Prince Avalanche. The album features the film’s original score composed by post-rock instrumentalists Explosions in the Sky (Friday Night Lights) and David Wingo (Mud, Take Shelter) who has previously collaborated with the director on such films as The Sitter, All the Real Girls and George Washington. Dario Marianelli to Score ‘A Long Way Down’

Dario Marianelli is currently scoring the upcoming drama A Long Way Down. The film based on the novel by Nick Hornby (About a Boy, High Fidelity) marks the English language directing debut of French filmmaker Pascal Chaumeil. Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette, Aaron Paul, Rosamund Pike, Sam Neill and Imogen Poots are starring in the movie, which follows four strangers who meet on New Year’s Eve on the top of a London skyscraper, who each had intended to jump off but make a pact to stay alive and help each other. MovieScore Media’s Screamworks Records will release a soundtrack album for the horror sequel The Last Exorcism: Part II. Mark Isham has been tapped to score the upcoming ABC series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. The show is a spin-off of the network’s hit drama Once Upon a Time, which Isham has been scoring for the past two years and recently aired its second season finale. Wonderland is written and executive produced by the original show creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (Lost) and follows the adventures of a mature Alice as she goes back down the rabbit hole to battle Red Queens and psychologists to find her true love. The show stars Sophie Lowe as Alice, Michael Socha as Knave of Hearts, Peter Gadiot as Cyrus, Emma Rigby as Queen of Hearts and John Lithgow as the voice of the White Rabbit. Philip Glass’ Score for Godfrey Reggio’s ‘Visitors’ to Be Performed at TIFF

Philip Glass has reunited with director Godfrey Reggio on his upcoming feature Visitors. The project marks the fourth film that the director and composer have collaborated on following the Qatsi Trilogy formed by the films Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi. It was announced today the movie will celebrate its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival where members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra will perform Glass’s score live. Visitors is presented in Black and White digital 4K projection and is said to “reveal humanity’s trancelike relationship with technology, which, when commandeered by extreme emotional states, produces massive effects far beyond the human species”. ‘Twenty Feet from Stardom’ Soundtrack Announced

Columbia Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom. The album features a new recording of the classic song Lean On Me featuring Darleen Love, as well as the original song Desperation performed by The Voice finalist Judith Hill. Also included is the Rolling Stones song Gimme Shelter performed by Merry Clayton, Young Americans performed by David Bowie and Walk On the Wild Side performed by Lou Reed. The soundtrack will be released on June 18, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack for the animated feature sequel Despicable Me 2. The album features the film’s original songs and themes by Pharrell Williams and the movie’s original score composed by Heitor Pereira (The Smurfs). Back Lot Music will release the soundtrack album for Universal Pictures’ speculative thriller The Purge. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nathan Whitehead who has previously contributed music and arrangements to such projects as Desperate Housewives, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Gears of War: Judgment. The soundtrack will be released on June 4, 2013. Audio clips will be added to this article within the next few weeks. The Purge (originally entitled Vigilandia) is directed by James DeMonaco (writer of Assault on Precinct 13 and The Negotiator) and stars Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey. Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious) is producing the project through his Blumhouse production company and Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror) are producing for Platinum Dunes, alongside Sébastien Kurt Lemercier (Assault on Precinct 13).
