The show is inspired by the Happy Face true-crime podcast and stars Annaleigh Ashford, Dennis Quaid, James Wolk, Khiyla Aynne, Tamera Tomakili and Benjamin Mackey. The 8-part crime drama is based on the the true-life story of Melissa G. Moore and her incarcerated father, known as the Happy Face Killer who – after decades of no contact –  finally finds a way to force himself back into the life of her daughter who must find out if an innocent man is going to be put to death for a crime her father committed. Premiering tonight is the new CBS drama Watson developed by Craig Sweeny and starring Morris Chestnut, Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Inga Schlingmann, Ritchie Coster and Rochelle Aytes. The show’s original music is composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Dynasty, Boston StranglerTales from the LoopWormwood). The series, which takes place six months after the death of the title character’s friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty and follows Dr. John Watson as he resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders, will air Sunday nights on CBS and will also be available to stream on Paramount+.

Premiering on Tuesday, January 28, is the Hulu original series Paradise created by Dan Fogelman and starring Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson, Aliyah Mastin, Sarah Shahi, Percy Daggs IV and Nicole Brydon Bloom. Siddhartha Khosla (Only Murders in the Building, This Is Us, The Idea of You, Rabbit Hole, Welcome to Chippendales, Queenpins, Looking for Alaska) has composed the show’s original music. The movie is written and directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, Gods and Monsters) and stars Diego Luna, Tonatiuh, Jennifer Lopez, Josefina Scaglione, Bruno Bichir and Aline Mayagoitia. The film based on the 1992 stage musical of the same title written by Terrence McNally and featuring music by John Kander & lyrics by Fred Ebb (which is based on the 1976 novel by Manuel Puig) tells the story of a political prisoner and his cellmate, a window dresser convicted of public indecency, who form an unlikely bond as the latter recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva.
