‘Blood Ties’ Soundtrack Details

blood-tiesA soundtrack album for the crime thriller Blood Ties has been announced. The album features the film’s original music composed by French singer/songwriter Yodelice. Also included are the songs from the movie by artists including The Velvet Underground, Sam Cooke, Little Richard, The Rubettes, Ace Frehley, Lee Moses, Al Wilson and more. The soundtrack will be released in France on October 28, 2013 and in the U.S. on March 17, 2014. Visit Amazon to pre-order the album and check out audio clips after the jump. Blood Ties is directed by Guillaume Canet (Tell No One, Little White Lies) and stars Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Marion Cotillard, Mila Kunis, Zoe Saldana, Matthias Schoenaerts, James Caan, Noah Emmerich, Lili Taylor, John Ventimiglia, Domenick Lombardozzi and Griffin Dunne. The movie follows two brothers, on either side of the law, who face off over organized crime in Brooklyn during the 1970s. The thriller premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and will be released in France on October 30. Lionsgate/Roadside Attractions has picked up domestic distribution rights and is planning a release in 2014. carter-burwellCarter Burwell has been hired to score the upcoming HBO mini-series Olive Kitteridge. The series directed by Lisa Cholodenko (Laurel Canyon, High Art) is based on the Pulitzer Price-winning novel of the same title by Elizabeth Strout and stars Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins, Zoe Kazan, John Gallagher Jr., Jesse Plemons and Brady Corbet. The two-parter takes place in a seemingly placid New England town wrought with illicit affairs, crime and tragedy, told through the lens of Olive, whose wicked wit and harsh demeanor mask a warm but troubled heart and a staunch moral center. Jane Alexander (It Could Happen to You, Normal) has adapted the material for television. Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman (The Pacific, John Adams) are executive producing the project with McDormand and Anderson. cocoonIntrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1985 fantasy comedy Cocoon directed by Ron Howard and starring Don Ameche, Wilford Brimley, Hume Cronyn, Jack Gilford, Maureen Stapleton, Jessica Tandy, Brian Dennehy, Steve Guttenberg and Tahnee Welch. The album features the expanded and remastered original score from the 20the Century Fox production composed and conducted by James Horner who collaborated with Howard numerous times on such movies as Apollo 13, Willow, A Beautiful Mind and Ransom. blake-neelyBlake Neely has been tapped to score the upcoming documentary series The Sixties. The show explores key moments of the 1960s through archival newsreel footage, personal movies, and interviews with eyewitnesses to history. The 10-part series features expert commentary from historians, including David McCullough, Robert Dallek, and Robert Caro, as well as recollections from journalists, such as Dan Rather, Robert MacNeil. The docudrama is executive produced by Tom Hanks & Gary Goetzman (The Pacific, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Larry Crowne) for Playtone and Mark Herzog for Herzog & Company. Neely whose scoring credits include such TV shows as The Mentalist, Arrow and Everwood and features including Life As We Know It has previously scored Playtone’s HBO series The Pacific, the documentary Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D and the feature dramedy The Great Buck Howard. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, The Rite, State of Play). For the first time in the awards history, a winner in the music category (as well as 5 other categories) has been announced before the awards ceremony following a decision of the EFA Board to draw more attention to the awards recipients in these categories. Morricone whose best known scores include The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West and The Mission has previously been nominated for a European Film Award in 2005 for his score for Fateless. ‘Dom Hemingway’ Soundtrack Details

dom-hemingwayMetropolis Movie Music will release a soundtrack album for the crime comedy Dom Hemingway. The album features the film’s original score composed by Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Election, Up in the Air), as well as the songs from the film by artists including Citizen Cope, Chad Hobson and Emilia Clarke. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 12, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Dom Hemingway is directed by Richard Shepard and stars Jude Law, Richard E. Grant, Demian Bichir, Emilia Clarke, Kerry Condon, Jumayn Hunter and Madalina Ghenea. The movie about a notorious safecracker who is looking for payback from a crime boss premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in the UK on November 15 and in the U.S. on April 4, 2014 by Fox Searchlight. the-returnedMaking its U.S. premiere on Thursday, October 31 on the Sundance Channel is the French zombie drama The Returned (Les revenants) created by Fabrice Gobert and starring Anne Consigny, Clotilde Hesme and Guillaume Gouix. The show’s original music is composed by the Scottish post-rock band Mogwai. Sub Pop Music has released an album featuring the band’s score for the show. The eight-part series is set in a French mountain town where a seemingly random group of people find themselves in a state of confusion as they attempt to return to their homes. pharrell-williamsPharrell Williams revealed in a recent interview with Billboard that he has joined composer Hans Zimmer to score the upcoming superhero film sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Zimmer has previously been announced as the composer of the movie directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, Denis Leary, Colm Feore, Chris Cooper, Sally Field, Chris Zylka, Marton Csokas and Felicity Jones. The sequel is produced by Avi Arad (X-Men, Iron Man, Hulk) and Matt Tolmach. Zimmer and Williams are taking over scoring duties on the series from James Horner who composed a widely acclaimed score for last year’s reboot. Marc Canham Scoring ‘Final Girl’

final-girlMarc Canham has recently scored the upcoming psychological thriller Final Girl. The film marks the directorial debut of photographer Tyler Shields and stars Abigail Breslin, Wes Bentley and Alexander Ludwig. The movie follows a teenage girl new in town who is lured into the woods by a group of senior boys to be the victim in their final initiation. Adam Prince has written the screenplaynbased on story by Steve Scarlata, Alejandro Seri and Johnny Silver. Prospect Park’s Jeff Kwatinetz and Rob Carliner (Crazy Heart, The Apostle, Assassination Tango) are producing the project for Prospect Park, alongside Jack and Joseph Nasser for Nasser Entertainment.
