Columbia Records will release a new soundtrack album for the FX hit drama Sons of Anarchy. Sons of Anarchy: Vol. 3 included such songs as Chris Goss’ & the Forest Rangers’ take on Sitting on Top of the World, Leonard Cohen’s Come Healing and Joshua James’ Crash This Train. The show’s house band The Forest Rangers, which is featured on music tracks, includes the show’s composer Bob Thiele, Greg Leisz (guitar/banjo), John Philip Shenale (keyboards), Lyle Workman (guitar), Dave Way, Davey Faragher (bass), Brian Macleod (drums) and Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner. The soundtrack will be released on December 3, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Sony Pictures announced today that Johnny Marr, Michael Einziger and Dave Stewart have joined the music team for the superhero sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams have previously been announced to score the film directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Denis Leary, Colm Feore, Chris Cooper, Sally Field and Felicity Jones. Johnny Marr who is best known as a co-songwriter and founding member of The Smiths has previously collaborated with Zimmer as a guitarist on Christopher Nolan’s Inception. Einziger who is the founder/guitarist/songwriter for the band Incubus has composed additional music for Zimmer’s The Lone Ranger score and Dave Stewart has worked with the composer on Dreamworks Animation’s Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. ‘You and the Night’ Soundtrack Announced

Naïve Records will release a soundtrack album for the French drama You and the Night (Les rencontres d’après minuit). The album features the film’s original music composed by Anthony Gonzalez of M83 who previously co-scored this year’s Oblivion starring Tom Cruise. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 11, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. You and the Night is written and directed by Yann Gonzalez and stars Kate Moran, Niels Schneider, Nicolas Maury, Éric Cantona, Fabienne Babe, Alain Fabien Delon, Julie Bremond and Béatrice Dalle. The movie follows a young couple and their transvestite maid who prepare for an orgy. The Chemical Brothers to Score ‘Trespass Against Us’

The Chemical Brothers are set to compose and perform the score for the upcoming gangster drama Trespass Against Us. Adam Smith is attached to direct the project, which will mark the director’s first narrative feature. Michael Fassbender is in talks to star in the movie, which is set across three generations of the rowdy Cutler family, who live as outlaws – hunting hares, ram-raiding stately homes and taunting the police. Alastair Siddons has written the screenplay and is also producing the film with Gail Egan (Half of a Yellow Son, the upcoming A Most Wanted Man) and Andrea Calderwood (The Last King of Scotland) of Potboiler Productions. ‘Amazonia’ Soundtrack Details

Naïve Records will release a soundtrack album for the 3D documentary Amazonia. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Chorus). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 18, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Amazonia is directed by Thierry Ragobert who previously collaborated with Coulais on the 2006 documentary The White Planet. The movie centers on a domesticated capuchin monkey that is released into the wild and suddenly finds itself fighting for survival in the wilds of the Amazon jungle. The film premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in France on November 27. No word yet on a domestic release for the documentary. T Bone Burnett to Score HBO’s ‘True Detective’

T Bone Burnett is set to score the upcoming HBO original series True Detective. The show stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as two cops whose lives intersect during a 17-year serial killer investigation in Louisiana. Michelle Monaghan, Jay O. Sanders, Lili Simmons, Alexandra Daddario, Michael Potts, Kevin Dunn, Tory Kittles, Elizabeth Reaser and Brad Carter are co-starring. Nic Pizzolatto is writing the scripts for all episodes and Cary Fukunaga (Sin Nombre, Jane Eyre) is directing the entire series. Universal Republic will release a score album for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Newton Howard (The Sixth Sense, Signs King Kong). The soundtrack will be released on November 25, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously announced, the label will also release a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from and inspired by the film. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire directed by Francis Lawrence and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland will be released nationwide on November 22 by Lionsgate. A soundtrack album for the crime thriller Blood Ties has been announced. The album features the film’s original music composed by French singer/songwriter Yodelice. Also included are the songs from the movie by artists including The Velvet Underground, Sam Cooke, Little Richard, The Rubettes, Ace Frehley, Lee Moses, Al Wilson and more. Carter Burwell to Score HBO’s ‘Olive Kitteridge’

Carter Burwell has been hired to score the upcoming HBO mini-series Olive Kitteridge. The series directed by Lisa Cholodenko (Laurel Canyon, High Art) is based on the Pulitzer Price-winning novel of the same title by Elizabeth Strout and stars Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins, Zoe Kazan, John Gallagher Jr., Jesse Plemons and Brady Corbet. The two-parter takes place in a seemingly placid New England town wrought with illicit affairs, crime and tragedy, told through the lens of Olive, whose wicked wit and harsh demeanor mask a warm but troubled heart and a staunch moral center. Jane Alexander (It Could Happen to You, Normal) has adapted the material for television. Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman (The Pacific, John Adams) are executive producing the project with McDormand and Anderson.
