THR is reporting that The Chemical Brothers will be reuniting with director Joe Wright on the upcoming Sky original limited series M. Son of the Century. The show is directed by Wright (Atonement, Darkest Hour), written by Stefano Bises (ZeroZeroZero, The New Pope) & Davide Serino (The Bad Guy) based on Antonio Scurati’s best-selling novel of the same name and stars Luca Marinelli. The 8-part historical drama chronicles the rise of Benito Mussolini as told from the inside, showing how the Italian fascist leader could bewitch a nation and transform the politics of the 20th century.

The Chemical Brothers to Score ‘Trespass Against Us’
The Chemical Brothers are set to compose and perform the score for the upcoming gangster drama Trespass Against Us. Adam Smith is attached to direct the project, which will mark the director’s first narrative feature. Michael Fassbender is in talks to star in the movie, which is set across three generations of the rowdy Cutler family, who live as outlaws – hunting hares, ram-raiding stately homes and taunting the police. Alastair Siddons has written the screenplay and is also producing the film with Gail Egan (Half of a Yellow Son, the upcoming A Most Wanted Man) and Andrea Calderwood (The Last King of Scotland) of Potboiler Productions. Smith has previously directed numerous episodes of TV shows including Doctor Who and Skins.
The Chemical Brothers to Score ‘Now You See Me’
According to The Playlist, The Chemical Brothers are attached to score the upcoming heist movie Now You See Me. The film is directed by Louis Leterrier and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Isla Fisher, Melanie Laurent, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco and Common. The movie follows a group of the world’s greatest illusionists who pull off daring bank heists during their performances. Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans, Fresh) and Edward Ricour have written the screenplay for the Summit Entertainment production. Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Transformers) are producing via their Kurtzman Orci Paper Products company.
Weekly Film Music Roundup (April 8, 2011)
Four new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
The comedy Arthur directed by Jason Winer and starring Russell Brand, Helen Mirren, Jennifer Garner and Greta Gerwig features music by Theodore Shapiro. A soundtrack with songs from the movie has been released earlier this week by WaterTower Music. No word on a release of Shapiro’s score. Also coming out this week is the family drama Soul Surfer starring AnnaSophia Robb, Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt. The film’s score is by Marco Beltrami and has been released by Madison Gate Records as reported here. The album can be downloaded on iTunes. A separate soundtrack with songs from the film has been released by Rhino Records this Tuesday.
‘Hanna’ Soundtrack Details
The Playlist has revealed the details for the soundtrack release of the upcoming action thriller Hanna with music by The Chemical Brothers. The soundtrack album features the original score from the film and will be released on March 15, 2011. The film’s music can be previewed on the official movie webpage and is also featured in the film’s trailer (see below).
