Alexandre Azaria and Marc Bell are composing the music for the upcoming action thriller Brick Mansions. The film is directed by Camille Delamarre and is an English language remake of Pierre Morel’s 2004 film District B13. The movie stars Paul Walker as an undercover cop who is tasked with going into a tenement named Brick Mansions in order to disarm a neutron bomb that is ticking down. RZA, David Belle and Robert Maillet are co-starring. Luc Besson has written the screenplay with Robert Mark Kamen (Taken) and is also producing the EuropaCorp and Relativity Media production with Ryan Kavanaugh & Tucker Tooley (The Fighter, Limitless) and Christophe Lambert. SoundCloud and The Bleeding Fingers Custom Music Shop – a joint venture between Extreme Music, the production music arm of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, and Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer’s company Remote Control Productions – have partnered to launch the talent quest Hans Zimmer Wants You!. The winner/s will get an opportunity to become a Bleeding Fingers staff composer working along-side some of Hollywood’s premier film and TV composers on Zimmer’s LA-campus. ‘Black Sails’ Soundtrack Details

Sparks & Shadows will release a soundtrack album for the new Starz original series Black Sails. The album features the show’s original score composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), including the composer’s main titles theme. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on January 28, 2014. Black Sails marks McCreary’s second collaboration with show creator Jonathan E. Steinberg following Human Target and follows the tales of Captain Flin and his men twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island. The pirate adventure is co-created by Robert Levine and stars Toby Stephens, Luke Arnold, Zach McGowan, Toby Schmitz, Hannah New, Tom Hopper, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Clara Paget and Mark Ryan. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to Score David Fincher’s ‘Gone Girl’

Trent Reznor has announced on Twitter that he is reuniting with composer Atticus Ross to score David Fincher’s upcoming thriller Gone Girl. The film is based on the bestselling novel by Gillian Flynn and stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit and Carrie Coon. The movie follows a woman who disappears on the day of her fifth wedding anniversary. Flynn has also written the screenplay and Fincher is producing the project with Pacific Standard’s Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea (Warm Bodies, All Good Things). Reznor and Ross have previously written the music for Fincher’s The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and received an Academy Award for their work on the former project. Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack album for the 1993 thriller Falling Down directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Michael Douglas, Robert Duvall and Barbara Hershey. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, King Kong, The Fugitive). Marty Paich conducted the orchestra. The soundtrack for the Warner Bros. Pictures production also features a number of alternate cues. Carter Burwell is attached to score the upcoming drama Carol. The film is directed by Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven, I’m Not There) and is set to star Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. The movie based on the novella by Patricia Highsmith (The Talented Mr. Ripley) is set in 1950s New York and follows a 20-something clerk working in a department store and dreaming of a better life who falls for an older, married woman. Phyllis Nagy (Mrs. Harris) has adapted Highsmith’s novel for the screen. Kronos Quartet to Perform on Clint Mansell’s ‘Noah’ Score

Director Darren Aronofsky announced on Twitter that the Grammy Award-winning string quartet Kronos Quartet is reuniting with composer Clint Mansell to perform on his score for the upcoming biblical epic Noah. They have previously collaborated on the 2006 feature The Fountain, as well as on the director’s second movie Requiem for a Dream. Noah stars Russell Crowe in the title role as the man chosen by God for a great task before an apocalyptic flood destroys the world. Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins, Logan Lerman are co-starring in the film, which will be released nationwide on March 28, 2014 by Paramount Pictures. ‘Tarzan’ Soundtrack Details

Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature Tarzan. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee David Newman (Anastasia, Ice Age, Serenity) who previously scored the animated movie Animals United for the filmmakers. Also included is the song Loud Like Love by the British rock band Placebo. The soundtrack will be released overseas on February 17, 2014 and is available as an import here. The album will also be released digitally in the U.S. on May 6 and is available to order on Amazon. Tarzan based on the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs tale is directed by Reinhard Klooss and features the voices of Kellan Lutz, Spencer Locke, Anton Zetterholm, Mark Deklin, Trevor St. John and Jaime Ray Newman. Adrian Johnston has composed the music for Discovery Channel’s miniseries Klondike. The six-parter is directed by Simon Cellan Jones and stars Richard Madden, Sam Shepard, Abbie Cornish, Ian Hart, Johnny Simmons, Conor Leslie, Tim Roth, Augustus Prew, Marton Csokas and Tim Blake Nelson. The series is based on Charlotte Gray’s novel Gold Diggers: Striking It Rich in the Klondike and follows six strangers and their collective fight for survival and wealth in a small frontier town in the remote Klondike. Paul Scheuring (Prison Break) is the primary writer and also serves as executive producer, along with Ridley Scott and David W.
