Premiering tomorrow, October 12, is the CW original series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend created by Rachel Bloom & Aline Brosh McKenna and starring Bloom herself, as well as Santino Fontana, Donna Lynne Champlin, Vincent Rodriguez III, Pete Gardner and Vella Lovell. Bloom is also co-writing the show’s original songs with Jack Dolgen and Jerome Kurtenbach. The musical comedy drama follows a single woman and her elusive pursuit of her longtime soul mate who dumped her while they were dating in high school ten years ago. ‘Da Vinci’s Demons’ Season 3 Soundtrack Details
Sparks & Shadows will release a new soundtrack album for the Starz original series Da Vinci’s Demons. The album features selections from the original music from the show’s third and final season composed by Emmy Award winner Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Outlander). The soundtrack will be released on November 3, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The label has previously released soundtrack albums featuring music from Season 1 and Season 2. Da Vinci’s Demons is created by David S. Alec Puro Scoring ‘Lost in the Pacific’
Alec Puro is composing the music for the upcoming 3D sci-fi adventure thriller Lost in the Pacific. The film is directed by Vincent Zhou (Last Flight) and stars Brandon Routh and Zhang Yuqi. The Chinese production is set in 2020 and follows a group of passengers stranded on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean after their luxury airliner makes an emergency landing who soon learn the island has been overrun with strange mutated creatures. Zhou has also written the screenplay for the movie with Peter Cameron and also serves as a producer on the Arclight Films production.
The de Luca Brothers to Score Discovery’s ‘The Killing Fields’
The de Luca Brothers have been hired to score the upcoming Discovery’s upcoming investigative series Killing Fields. The show takes a look at the deep history attached to isolated and idyllic outside areas in America he deep history attached to remote areas in America that are “killing fields”, locations where crimes have occurred and have gone undetected due to their geography and outside elements that have erased the scene of the crime. Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Good Morning, Vietman, The Natural, Sleepers) and Tom Fontana (Homicide: Life on the Street, Oz) are executive producing the project with Rebecca Toth Diefenbach, Valerie Haselton, Lucilla D’Agostino, Denise Contis and Joseph Schneier.
‘Regression’ Soundtrack Details
The details of the soundtrack album for Alejandro Amenabar’s psychological thriller Regression. The album features the film’s original music composed by Roque Banos (Evil Dead, In the Heart of the Sea, Sexy Beast, The Machinist). The soundtrack will be released on October 23, 2015 by Lakeshore Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Regression is written and directed by Amenábar and stars Ethan Hawke, Emma Watson, David Dencik, David Thewlis, Devon Bostic, Dale Dickey and Lothaire Bluteau. The movie follows a man who is arrested for sexually abusing his daughter and, with the help of a psychologist, relives the memories and implicates a police officer as his partner in crime.

Mac Quayle to Score FX’s ‘American Crime Story’
Mac Quayle has signed on to score the upcoming FX original limited series American Crime Story. The first season of the show, entitled The People v. O.J. Simpson, is based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin and follows the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers. The drama’s cast includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson, John Travolta, David Schwimmer, Courtney B. Vance as defense attorneys Robert Shapiro, Robert Kardashian as Johnnie Cochran, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark and Bruce Greenwood as Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti. Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski (Ed Wood, Big Eyes, The People v. Larry Flynt) have written the scripts.
Expanded ‘Basic Instinct’ and ‘Kiss the Girls’ Soundtracks Announced
Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for Paul Verhoeven’s 1992 thriller Basic Instinct starring Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas. The album features the complete score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Planet of the Apes, The Omen, Patton) and recorded with the National Philharmonic Orchestra. Also included is the content of the original 1992 soundtrack album, as well as a number of bonus tracks including alternate cues. John Williams to Receive AFI Lifetime Achievement Award
The American Film Institute Board of Trustees announced today that John Williams will be honored with the 44th AFI Life Achievement Award, America’s highest honor for a career in film. For the first time in AFI history, the award will be bestowed upon a composer. Williams will receive the award at a gala Tribute on June 9, 2016 in Los Angeles, CA. The composer of such films as Star Wars, E.T., Jaws, Schindler’s List and Jurassic Park has received five Academy Awards, as well as 49 nominations and holds the record for the most Oscar nominations of any living person. The AFI Life Achievement Award Tribute special will air on TNT in late June 2016, followed by an encore presentation on its sister network, Turner Classic Movies (TCM).
