sum-of-all-fearsLa La-Land Records has released a new soundtrack album for the 2002 thriller The Sum of All Fears directed by Phil Alden Robinson, based on the novel by Tom Clancy and starring Ben Affleck, Morgan Freeman and Liev Schreiber. The album features the film’s expanded and remastered original score composed by Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, The Omen), including almost 30 minutes of previously unreleased music, as well as bonus cues. Also featured is the original song If We Could Remember performed by Yolanda Adams, as well as Nessum Dorma from Puccini’s opera Turandot performed by Bruce Sledge and Star-Spangled Banner performed by Arnold McCuller. The soundtrack for the Paramount Pictures production is limited to 3000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio clips. almost-homeLorne Balfe has composed the music for the new DreamWorks Animation short Almost Home. The 4-minute film introduces the characters of the studio’s upcoming feature Home directed by Tim Johnson (Over the Hedge) and featuring the voices of Steve Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Jim Parsons and Rihanna who is also writing songs for the film. fading-gigoloMilan Records will release a soundtrack album for John Turturro’s indie comedy Fading Gigolo. The album features the music from the film, including tracks by saxophonist Gene Ammons, trombone/trumpet player Trombone Shorty, as well as songs by Dalida, Vanessa Paradis, M’Barka Ben Taleb and Dean Martin. Also included are two tracks from the score composed by Bill Maxwell. The soundtrack will be released on April 15, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Fading Gigolo is written and directed by Turturro who also stars in the film alongside Woody Allen, Sofía Vergara, Sharon Stone, Liev Schreiber, Max Casella and Vanessa Paradis. The movie follows a man who aspires to be a professional Don Juan in order to raise money to help his friend. The comedy premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on April 18 by Millennium Entertainment. Brooks and stars Dreama Walker, Macy Gray, Ernie Hudson and Michael O’Neill. The movie tells the true story of an LA Weekly reporter who investigates the unsolved murders of dozens of women in Los Angeles by the alleged serial killer known as the “Grim Sleeper”. Robert Nathan (Law & Order) and Teena Booth (The Drew Peterson Story) have written the script. 300-empireWaterTower Music (via Deadline) has published a video featurette on the music of the historical action epic 300: Rise of an Empire, which topped the domestic and international box office this past weekend. The video features an interview with the film’s composer Junkie XL (Divergent) who discusses building new instruments for his score, as well footage from the music’s orchestral recording sessions at the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. The soundtrack album for the film directed by Noam Murro, produced by Zack Snyder and starring Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro, Eva Green, Callan Mulvey, Jack O’Connell and Lena Headey is now available on Amazon. The film is written and directed by Roger Allers (The Lion King, Open Season) and features the voice talent of Liam Neeson, Salma Hayek, John Krasinski, Frank Langella, Alfred Molina and Quvenzhané Wallis. The movie is based on the iconic book of the same title by Lebanese poet Kahlil Gibran that is one of the biggest sellers in history. Each chapter of the book is directed by a different award-winning director, including Marjane Satrapi (Persepolis), Tomm Moore (The Secret of Kells), Nina Paley (Sita Sings The Blues) and Paul & Gaetan Brizzi (Fantasia 2000). cosmosPremiering tonight on Fox is the docu-series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, Ann Druyan, Mitchell Cannold & Brannon Braga and hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. Alan Silvestri (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future, The Avengers) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring selections from the composer’s was released digitally earlier this week. Additional albums are expected to be announced soon. The film marks the directorial debut of Jesse Zwick (Parenthood) and stars Aubrey Plaza, Jason Ritter, Max Greenfield, Nate Parker, Maggie Grace, Max Minghella and Jane Levy. The movie follows seven college friends who reunite one long weekend after one of their own attempts suicide. Zwick has also written the screenplay and Adam Saunders (Family Weekend) is producing the Footprint Features production. The album features the film’s original music composed by Victor Reyes (Buried, Red Lights). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. A CD version is set to be released on March 25, 2014. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. Grand Piano is directed by Eugenio Mira and stars Elijah Wood, John Cusack, Tamsin Egerton, Kerry Bishe, Alex Winter, Don McManus and Allen Leech. The thriller follows a piano virtuoso who returns to perform after being forced into early retirement because of stage fright.
