A soundtrack album has been released for the Chinese mystery comedy Detective Chinatown 1900. The album features the film’s original score composed by Hu Xiaoou and Nathan Wang (She’s All That, The Game Plan, You Again, Playing with Fire, Chinese Zodiac). Also included is the song Welcome to San Francisco performed by Rennie Wang. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and most other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. Detective Chinatown 1900 is directed by Chen Sicheng & Dai Mo and stars Wang Baoqiang, Liu Haoran, Chow Yun-Fat, Zhang Xincheng, Ke Bai and Yue Yunpeng. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action comedy Love Hurts directed by JoJo Eusebio and starring Ke Huy Quan, Ariana DeBose, Daniel Wu, Lio Tipton, Sean Astin, Mustafa Shakir, Marshawn Lynch, André Eriksen and Rhys Darby. The film’s original music is composed by Dominic Lewis (The Fall Guy, The Man in the High Castle, Bullet Train, Peter Rabbit, Money Monster, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, Spirited). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the slasher movie Heart Eyes directed by Josh Ruben and starring Olivia Holt, Mason Gooding, Gigi Zumbado, Devon Sawa Jordana Brewster and Michaela Watkins. Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Swan Song, Tell Me Lies, Franklin, Indignation, We Grown Now, I Carry You with Me, Fire Island) has composed the film’s original music. Dan Levy (I Lost My Body, Meanwhile on Earth, Breaking Point, Vesper, Star Wars Visions: Sith, Empire of the Wolves, For My Country) is set to score a new contemporary French film adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s classic novel The Phantom of the Opera (Le Fantôme de l’Opéra). The movie is directed by Alexandre Castagnetti (Love Is in the Air, Tamara) and will star Deva Cassel, Julien De Saint Jean and Romain Duris. The film tells the story of a young woman newly-arrived in Paris and full of hopes and dreams as she takes up a position as a ballet dancer at the opera house, where she meets the place’s mythical phantom and they embark on an impossible love story.
