the-cutBureau B will release a soundtrack album for Fatih Akin’s historical drama The Cut. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alexander Hacke. Also included is an Armenian version of the song Everything To Get You Back by Hindi Zahra. The soundtrack will be released overseas on October 17, 2014. No word yet on a domestic release date. The Cut is co-written and directed by Akin (Head-On, Soul Kitchen) and stars Tahar Rahim, Simon Abkarian, Makram J. Khoury, Hindi Zahra, Kevork Malikyan, Bartu Kucukcaglayan, Trine Dyrholm and Moritz Bleibtreu. monkey-kingdomHarry Gregson-Williams mentioned in a recent interview with Music Times that he is currently scoring Disneynature’s upcoming documentary Monkey Kingdom. The film is directed by Mark Linfield (Chimpanzee, Earth) and co-directed by Alastair Fothergill (African Cats, Bears, Deep Blue) and spotlights the reality of a newborn monkey and its mother, struggling to survive within the competitive social hierarchy of the Temple Troop, a dynamic group of monkeys who live in ancient ruins found deep in the jungles of South Asia. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 14, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is set to be released on November 11. Audio clips are available below. Camp X-Ray is written and directed by Peter Sattle and stars Kristen Stewart, Payman Maadi, John Carroll Lynch, Lane Garrison, Joseph Julian Soria and Cory Michael Smith. The movie executive produced by David Gordon Green follows a young woman who joins the military to be part of something bigger than herself and her small-town roots but ends up as a rookie guard at Guantanamo Bay. The show’s original music is composed by Alec Puro (The Fosters, The Art of Getting By, The First Time). Jared Faber (Suborgatory, As Told by Ginger) is composing the show’s original music. Selfie follows a self-obsessed twentysomething who is more concerned with “likes” than being liked. The film is directed by Justin Chadwick (The Other Boyleyn Girl) and stars Alicia Vikander, Dane DeHaan, Jack O’Connell, Christoph Waltz, Holliday Grainger, Zach Galifianakis, Judi Dench, Matthew Morrison, Tom Hollander, Cara Delevingne and Cressida Bonas. The movie is set in 17th century Amsterdam and follows a married woman who begins a passionate affair with an artist hired to paint her portrait. Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love, Empire of the Sun, Brazil) has written the screenplay based on the romance novel by Deborah Moggach. Rocks in My Pockets is directed by Latvian-born artist and filmmaker Signe Baumane and tells five fantastical tales based on the courageous women in her family and their battles with madness. It was announced last week that the movie will represent Latvia in the race for the foreign language Oscars. the-equalizerExpected to top the weekend box office is the action thriller The Equalizer directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Denzel Washington, Chloë Grace Moretz, Marton Csokas, David Harbour, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo. The film’s original music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of NarniaShrek series, Man on FireUnstoppable) who previously scored the director’s The Replacement Killers.
