Tina Guo & Composers for Charity Album Released

tina-guoCellist Tina Guo has released the album Tina Guo & Composers for Charity, which features collaborations with a variety of film, TV, and video game composers. The pieces on the album are written by composers including Neal Acree (Diablo III), Penka Kouneva (Primrose Lane), Austin Wintory (Journey), Lorne Balfe (The Penguins of Madagascar), Jeff Rona (Dominion), Bill Brown (CSI: NY), Nuno Malo (The Celestine Prophecy) and Pinar Toprak (The River Murders). The proceeds from the digital album will be donated to the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation to support underfunded music in schools. The album is now available on Loudr.fm and iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. Guo was the eatured cello soloist on numerous film scores, including Sherlock Holmes by Hans Zimmer, Iron Man 2 by John Debney, Clash of the Titans by Ramin Djawadi and Olympus Has Fallen by Trevor Morris. ‘Horns’ Score Album Announced

hornsLakeshore Records has announced a score album for Alexandre Aja’s horror thriller Horns. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob (aka Robin Coudert) who previously scored the Aja-produced Maniac. The soundtrack was released yesterday in the UK and will arrive in the U.S. digitally on October 14. A CD version will be released on November 4 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded below. Horns directed by Aja is based on the best-selling book by Joe Hill and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Juno Temple, Max Minghella, Heather Graham, David Morse, Joe Anderson, Kelli Garner, Kathleen Quinlan and James Remar. The show is created by Hagai Lemi (In Treatment) & Sarah Treem (House of Cards) and stars Dominic West, Ruth Wilson, Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson. The drama explores the emotional and psychological effects of an extramarital affair, told separately from the male and female perspectives and follows young woman waiting tables at a Hamptons diner, who begins an affair with a public school teacher and aspiring novelist. The film is directed by Tarsem Singh and stars Ryan Reynolds, Ben Kingsley, Matthew Goode, Natalie Martinez, Victor Garber and Derek Luke. The movie stars a terminally ill billionaire who buys a chance for eternal life through an experimental underground medical procedure, which transfers his consciousness into the cadaver of a younger man. Alex and David Pastor (Carriers, The Last Days) have written the screenplay. Ram Bergman (Looper, Don Jon, Brick) is producing the project with Endgame Entertainment’s James D. takenNathaniel Mechaly is reteaming with director Olivier Megaton to score the action thriller sequel Taken 3. The film stars Liam Neeson as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered and is framed for the crime. Forest Whitaker, Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace, Dogray Scott, Sam Spruell and Leland Orser are co-starring. Luc Besson (Lucy, The Professional, The Fifth Element) has once again written the screenplay with Robert Mark Kamen and is also producing the EuropaCorp and M6 Films production.
