‘Southbound’ Soundtrack Details

southboundHeadquarters Music will release a soundtrack album for the horror anthology Southbound. The album features the film’s original music written by the composer duo of The Gifted. The soundtrack will be released on February 9, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Southbound is directed by Radio Silence, Roxanne Benjamin, David Bruckner & Patrick Horvath and stars Chad Villella, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Fabianne Therese, Nathalie Love, Hannah Marks, Dana Gould, Mather Zickel, David Yow, Matt Peters and Larry Fessenden. The movie features five stories set on desolate stretches of a desert highway, including tales about two men on the run from their past, a band on its way to a gig, a man struggling to get home, a brother in search of his long-lost sister and a family on vacation. Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

kung-fu-panda-3Expected to top the weekend box office is the animated feature Kung Fu Panda 3 directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson & Alessandro Carloni and featuring the voices of Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, Bryan Cranston, Kate Hudson, David Cross and J.K. Simmons. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion KingInceptionThe Dark Knight) who previously co-scored the first two parts in the series with John Powell. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as songs by The Vamps and Patrick Brasca feat. Jay Chou. the-finest-hoursAlso opening wide is the disaster drama The Finest Hours directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger, John Ortiz and Eric Bana. Carter Burwell (TwilightFargoCarolTrue Grit) has composed the film’s original music. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the end titles song Haul Away Joe performed by Kodaline. miss-peregrines-home-for-peculiar-childrenMatthew Margeson and Mike Higham are currently scoring the upcoming fantasy adventure Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. The score will be recorded in London within the next few weeks. The movie stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Rupert Everett, Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is based on the Ransom Riggs novel and follows a teenager who finds himself transported to an island where he must help protect a group of orphans with special powers from creatures out to destroy them. galavant-2Hollywood Records has released a new soundtrack album for the ABC musical comedy Galavant. The album features the original songs from the show’s second season written by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the BeastAladdinThe Little MermaidEnchantedTangled) featuring lyrics by Glenn Slater and performed by the series’ cast, including guest stars Kylie Minogue, Weird Al Yankovic, Eddie Marsan, Reece Shearsmith & more. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the songs from the first season. Galavant is created by Dan Fogelman and stars Joshua Sasse, Mallory Jansen, Karen David, Timothy Omundson, Vinnie Jones and Luke Youngblood. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Carter Burwell (Fargo, Carol, Twilight, No Country for Old Men, True Grit, The Rookie). Also included is the original end titles song Haul Away Joe performed by Kodaline. lorne-balfeLorne Balfe has signed on to score the upcoming ITV original series Marcella. The show is created by Hans Rosenfeldt (The Bridge) & Nicola Larder and stars Anna Friel, Laura Carmichael, Nicholas Pinnock, Ian Puleston-Davies, Nina Sosanya, Ray Panthaki, Jamie Bamber, Sinead Cusack, Patrick Baladi and Harry Lloyd. The drama is set in contemporary London and follows a detective who returns to the Metropolitan Police’s Murder Squad after a 10-year long career break to start a family. Rosenfeldt and Larder are also executive producing the project with Tony Wood. Charles Martin (New Worlds, Skins), Jonathan Teplitzky (The Railway ManBroadchurch) and Henrik Georgsson (The Bridge) are directing the 8-part series. Read the rest of this entry »

academy-awardsAcademy Awards producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin announced today the first slate of presenters and performers for the 88th Oscars telecast. The list includes Lady GagaSam Smith and The Weeknd who are expected to perform their Oscar-nominated songs at the ceremony. Lady Gaga is nominated alongside Diane Warren for the song Til it Happens to You from the documentary The Hunting Ground, while Smith received a nomination the song Writing’s On the Wall from the James Bond film Spectre, which he co-wrote with Jimmy Napes. ‘Belgica’ Soundtrack Details

belgicaThe details of the soundtrack album for the drama Belgica have been revealed. The album features the songs written and produced for the film by the Belgian electronic rock group Soulwax and performed by the fictional bands in the movie.
