theebA soundtrack album will be released for the adventure drama Theeb. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jerry Lane. The soundtrack will be released on August 7, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio samples after the jump. Theeb is directed by Naji Abu Nowar and stars Jacir Eid, Hassan Mutlag, Hussein Salameh, Marji Audeh and Jack Fox. The show is based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and follows an 18-year-old girl who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. The album features selections from the original score from the show’s two seasons composed by Reinhold Heil (One Hour PhotoCloud AtlasRun Lola RunLegends, The International). The label will release the album as a 2 CD-set, which is now available for pre-order on Amazon. danny-elfmanDisney announced today that Danny Elfman is among this year’s Disney Legends honorees, which will be named and honored during D23 Expo 2015 at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 14, in Hall D23 at the Anaheim Convention Center. The event will be hosted by Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, and will include special musical performances. Elfman’s work for Disney include the musical The Nightmare Before Christmas, for which he composed the score and songs an provided the singing voice of Jack Skellington, as well as such features as Alice in Wonderland, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Dick Tracy, Good Will Hunting, Frankenweenie and Oz the Great and Powerful.
