Algorithm has released a soundtrack album for Mike Flanagan’s horror thriller Hush. The album features the film’s original music composed by The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Ouija 2, Life of Crime, Detachment, The Runner). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Hush is co-written and directed by Flanagan and stars John Gallagher Jr., Michael Trucco, Kate Siegel (who also co-wrote the screenplay) and Samantha Sloyan. The movie produced by Jason Blum follows a deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life and must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears in her window. Premiering on Tuesday, April 19, is the mini-series The Night Manager directed by Susanne Bier and starring Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki, David Harewood, Neil Morrissey, Katherine Kelly and Tobias Menzies. The 6-parter’s original music is composed by Victor Reyes (Buried, Grand Piano, Red Lights). Silva Screen Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music from the show. Also premiering on Tuesday is the new CW drama Containment created by Julie Plec based on the Belgian TV series Cordon and starring David Gyasi, Christina Moses, Chris Wood, Hanna Mangan-Lawrence, Kristen Gutoskie, George Young, Claudia Black and Trevor St. John. Michael Suby (The Vampire Diaries, The Butterfly Effect, The Originals, Pretty Little Liars) is composing the show’s original music. Writer/producer Cheo Hodari Coker revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad are scoring the upcoming Netflix original series Luke Cage. The show is based on the Marvel Comics character and stars Mike Colter in the title role, alongside Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley and Sônia Braga. The drama follows Cage as he becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City after a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin. Harry Gregson-Williams is set to compose the music for the upcoming drama The Zookeeper’s Wife. The film is directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider, North Country, McFarland, USA) and stars Jessica Chastain, Daniel Bruhl, Johan Heldenbergh, Michael McElhatton and Anna Rust. The movie is based on Diane Ackerman’s novel of the same title and tells the true story of Antonina Żabińska and her husband Dr. Jan Zabinski, the director of the Warsaw Zoo, who together used the zoo to help about 300 Jewish people escape from the Warsaw Ghetto after the Germans invaded Poland in September 1939. Angela Workman (Snow Flower and the Secret Fan) has written the screenplay. Jeff Abberley, Jamie Patricof (The Place Beyond the Pines, Blue Valentine) and Kim Zubick are producing the project. Atlantic Records will release a new soundtrack album for the HBO original series Vinyl. The album features musical highlights from the show’s first season, including songs by Elvis Costello, Charlie Wilson, Charli XCX, Iggy Pop, Trey Songz, Chris Cornell, The Arcs, Ty Taylor & more. The Essentials: Best of Season 1 soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 15 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring more songs from the drama. Vinyl is created by Terence Winter and stars Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Juno Temple, Ato Essandoh, P. J. Byrne, J. C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Paul Ben-Victor. The drama executive produced by Martin Scorsese is set in 1970s New York and tells the story of a record executive trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound.
