Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the crime dramedy The Trust. The album features the film’s original music composed by Reza Safinia (Filly Brown, Mercy). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 6, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Trust is directed by Ben & Alex Brewer and stars Nicolas Cage, Elijah Wood, Jerry Lewis and Sky Ferreira. The movie follows two corrupt cops of the Las Vegas Police Department who discover a high bail receipt in connection to a drug bust and set in motion a plan to find the source of the money. Marvin Hamlisch’s ‘Ordinary People’ and ‘Save the Tiger’ Scores to Be Released

La-La Land Records has released the world premiere release of the score for the Academy Award-winning 1980 drama Ordinary People directed by Robert Redford and starring Donald Sutherland, Mary Tyler Moore and Timothy Hutton. The album features the film’s original music written and conducted by Oscar-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch (The Sting, The Way We Were, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Informant!). The soundtrack also features the world premiere release of the composer’s score for the 1973 drama Save the Tiger directed by John G. Avildsen and starring Jack Lemmon. Danny Elfman has recently composed the music for the upcoming thriller The Circle. The film is directed by James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now, Smashed) and stars Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, John Boyega, Patton Oswalt, Karen Gillian, Bill Paxton and Ellar Coltrane. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Dave Eggers (Where the Wild Things Are, Away We Go) and follows a young woman who joins a social-media company, where she steps in front of the camera and finds her identity threatened by her brush with the spotlight. Ponsoldt has also written the screenplay and is also producing the project with Hanks & Gary Goetzman (Charlie Wilson’s War, The Polar Express) and Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Foxcatcher). The 8-part series follows the early life of Queen Victoria, from her accession to the throne at the age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. Algorithm has released a soundtrack album for Mike Flanagan’s horror thriller Hush. The album features the film’s original music composed by The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Ouija 2, Life of Crime, Detachment, The Runner). Hush is co-written and directed by Flanagan and stars John Gallagher Jr., Michael Trucco, Kate Siegel (who also co-wrote the screenplay) and Samantha Sloyan. The movie produced by Jason Blum follows a deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life and must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears in her window. Premiering on Tuesday, April 19, is the mini-series The Night Manager directed by Susanne Bier and starring Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki, David Harewood, Neil Morrissey, Katherine Kelly and Tobias Menzies. The 6-parter’s original music is composed by Victor Reyes (Buried, Grand Piano, Red Lights). Silva Screen Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music from the show. Writer/producer Cheo Hodari Coker revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad are scoring the upcoming Netflix original series Luke Cage. The show is based on the Marvel Comics character and stars Mike Colter in the title role, alongside Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley and Sônia Braga. The drama follows Cage as he becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City after a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin.
