Rusted Wave has released a soundtrack album for David Wain’s 2001 cult comedy Wet Hot American Summer. The album features the film’s original music composed by Theodore Shapiro (The Devil Wears Prada, Ghostbusters, Tropic Thunder, St. Vincent) and Craig Wedren (School of Rock, Role Models). Also included are the songs from the film written by both composers, as well as Mr. Blue & Chubb Rock’s Summer in America, as well as Peter Salett’s end titles song. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes. A vinyl edition is set to be released on July 22, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Wet Hot American Summer is created by Wain and Michael Showalter who also stars in the film alongside Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Molly Shannon, Paul Rudd, Christopher Meloni, Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Zak Orth, and A. Giorgio Moroder & Raney Shockne to Score Walter Hill’s ‘Tomboy, a Revenger’s Tale’

Giorgio Moroder and Raney Shockne have been hired to score the upcoming crime thriller Tomboy, a Revenger’s Tale. The film is directed by Walter Hill (48 Hrs., The Warriors, Last Man Standing, Red Heat) and stars Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, Tony Shalhoub, Anthony LaPaglia and Caitlin Gerard. The movie follows an assassin, who is double crossed by gangsters and finds himself in the hands of a rogue surgeon who turns him into a woman. Hill has also written the screenplay with Denis Hamill (Critical Condition). Saïd Ben Saïd (Carnage, Passion) is producing the project with Michael Merkt (Maps to the Stars, Elle). Brian Tyler to Return for ‘Fast 8’

Brian Tyler is set to return as the composer for the upcoming action sequel Fast 8. The film is directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, The Italian Job) and stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Eva Mendes and Kurt Russell who reprise their roles from the previous movies. They are joined by Charlize Theron and Scott Eastwood. No plot details have been announced yet. Chris Morgan (Wanted) who scripted the last four installments returns as the screenwriter. Premiering tomorrow, June 13, is the new CBS drama BrainDead created by Robert & Michelle King and starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aaron Tveit, Danny Pino, Nikki M. James and Tony Shalhoub. The show’s original music is composed by David Buckley (The Nice Guys, Jason Bourne, The Forbidden Kingdom, From Paris with Love) who previously scored CBS’ The Good Wife for the creators. Premiering on Tuesday, June 14, is the TNT original series Animal Kingdom developed by Jonathan Lisco based on the 2010 Australian feature of the same title and starring Ellen Barkin, Scott Speedman and Shawn Hatosy. Alexis & Sam (Equity, Lila & Eve, We’ll Never Have Paris) are scoring the show and Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Book of Eli) has composed the series’ main titles theme. Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the action thriller Jason Bourne. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Happy Feet, Shrek, United 93, Kung Fu Panda) who previously scored the first three parts in the series and David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Nice Guys, The Forbidden Kingdom). Also included is a new version of Moby’s Extreme Ways. The soundtrack will be released on July 29, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure Warcraft directed by Duncan Jones and starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky and Daniel Wu. The film’s original music composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Clash of the Titans, Person of Interest). ‘Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie’ Soundtrack Announced

Rhino Records will release a soundtrack album for the British comedy Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie. The album features the songs from the film, including a new version of the Absolutely Fabulous theme song This Wheel’s On Fire performed by Kylie Minogue, as well as tracks by Jason Derulo, Paloma Faith and La Roux, Serge Gainsbourg, Nancy Sinatra and Leonard Cohen, as well as live cast recordings from the movie. Also included is a suite from the film’s original score composed by Jake Monaco (Let’s Be Cops, Playing It Cool). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 22, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. John Williams to Score Steven Spielberg’s ‘Indiana Jones 5’

Steven Spielberg mentioned in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on the red carpet at last night’s AFI Gala in his honor that John Williams will return to score the fifth, currently untitled Indiana Jones movie. Harrison Ford will return in the title role. No plot details or other casting announcements have been made yet. Kathleen Kennedy (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park) and Frank Marshall (Jurassic World, The Bourne Trilogy, The Sixth Sense) will produce the project.
