Virgin Records has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the 1988 action comedy thriller Red Heat co-written and directed by Walter Hill and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jim Belushi, Peter Boyle and Ed O’Ross. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, Braveheart, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Glory, Field of Dreams, The Land Before Time, Legends of the Fall) . The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and most other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. ‘Dead for a Dollar’ Soundtrack to Be Released
Atlantic Screen Music/Filmtrax will release a soundtrack album for Walter Hill’s western Dead for a Dollar. The album features the film’s original music composed by Xander Rodzinski (Willow, Light & Magic). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 17 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Dead for a Dollar is written and directed by Hill and stars Christoph Waltz, Willem Dafoe, Rachel Brosnahan, Benjamin Bratt, Hamish Linklater, Warren Burke and Brandon Scott. The movie follows a veteran bounty hunter traveling deep into Mexico, where he encounters an outlaw and a sworn enemy he sent to prison years before.
Xander Rodzinski Scoring Disney+’s ‘Willow’ Episodes 4-8 and Walter Hill’s ‘Dead for a Dollar’
Xander Rodzinski has revealed on his official website that he is the composer of the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eight episode of the upcoming Disney+ original series Willow. James Newton Howard is scoring the first three episodes of the show, which is developed by Jonathan Kasdan & Wendy Mericle based on Ron Howard’s 1988 feature of the same title and stars Warwick Davis, Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz, Tony Revolori and Amer Chadha-Pate. The fantasy drama produced by Lucasfilm follows an unlikely group of heroes who set off on a dangerous quest to places far beyond their home, where they must face their inner demons and come together to save their world.
James Horner’s Complete ‘Another 48 Hrs.’ Score to Be Released
Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1990 action comedy Another 48 Hrs. directed by Walter Hill and starring Eddie Murphy, Nick Nolte, Brion James, Kevin Tighe and Ed O’Ross The album features the world premiere release of the complete original score from the Paramount Pictures production composed and conducted by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, Braveheart, A Beautiful Mind, The Amazing Spider-Man, Apollo 13, Willow, Field of Dreams, Aliens). The track, which is featured in the film’s end titles, is written by the movie’s co-composer Raney Shockne (The To Do List, Queen of the South, Anger Management) and Guns N’ Roses keyboardist Melissa Reese. The song is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. The Assignment starring Michelle Rodriguez, Tony Shalhoub, Sigourney Weaver, Anthony LaPaglia and Caitlin Gerard follows an assassin, who is double crossed by gangsters and finds himself in the hands of a rogue surgeon who turns him into a woman.

Giorgio Moroder and Raney Shockne have been hired to score the upcoming crime thriller Tomboy, a Revenger’s Tale. The film is directed by Walter Hill (48 Hrs., The Warriors, Last Man Standing, Red Heat) and stars Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, Tony Shalhoub, Anthony LaPaglia and Caitlin Gerard. The movie follows an assassin, who is double crossed by gangsters and finds himself in the hands of a rogue surgeon who turns him into a woman. Hill has also written the screenplay with Denis Hamill (Critical Condition). Saïd Ben Saïd (Carnage, Passion) is producing the project with Michael Merkt (Maps to the Stars, Elle).
Expanded Soundtrack for Walter Hill’s ‘The Warriors’ Announced
La-La Land Records has announced the details of a new soundtrack release for the Paramount Pictures 1979 action thriller The Warrior directed by Walter Hill and starring Michael Beck, James Remar and Deborah Van Valkenburg. The release features a remastered version of the original A&M album presentation, with songs from Joe Walsh, Arnold McCuller, Johnny Vastano, Genya Ravan, Kenny Vance & Ismael Miranda and Desmond Child. Also included as a world premiere release is the film’s original score composed by Barry DeVorzon, including cues that did not make the final version of the film. Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the action thriller Bullet to the Head. The album features the film’s score composed by Steve Mazzaro and produced by Hans Zimmer. The soundtrack will be released on digitally on January 29, 2013 and physically on February 19. The film is directed by Walter Hill (48 Hrs., Red Heat, Last Man Standing) and stars Sylvester Stallone as a hitman who forms an alliance with a cop to exact revenge on the killer of their respective partners. Sung Kang, Jason Momoa, Sarah Shahi and Christian Slater are co-starring in the movie based on the French graphic novel Du Plomb Dans La Tete written by Alexis Nolent. Joel Silver (Sherlock Holmes, The Matrix), Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Smallville, Shanghai Noon), Alexandra Milchan (Street Kings) and Kevin King Templeton (The Expendables) are producing the project for Silver’s Dark Castle Entertainment and IM Global.
