Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the superhero movie Suicide Squad directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Adam Beach, Karen Fukuhara and Viola Davis. The film’s original music is composed by Steven Price (Gravity, The World’s End, Fury). WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this coming Monday. Also opening wide is the family comedy Nine Lives directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and starring Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Garner, Malina Weissman, Cheryl Hines, Christopher Walken and Robbie Amell. Evgueni & Sacha Galperine (The Family, The Past, Madame Bovary) have composed the film’s original music. EuropaCorp has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as the song Three Cool Cats by The Coasters. Soundtrack Details for Netflix’s ‘The Get Down’ Revealed

RCA Records will release the official soundtrack album for Baz Luhrmann’s Netflix original series The Get Down. The album includes the music from the drama, including the songs performed the show’s cast featuring contributions from Elliott Wheeler, Grandmaster Flash and Nile Rodgers, as well as tracks by Nas, Miguel, Christina Aguilera, Zayn, Michael Kiwanuka, Leon Bridges, Jaden Smith, Raury & more. Luhrmann and Nas are executive producing the album. The soundtrack, set to be released on August 12, will be available in two different edition and is now available for pre-order on iTunes (regular edition) and here (deluxe edition). The albums are also available physically on Amazon. The full details of the soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Roadies have been announced today. The album features a selection of songs from the show by such artists as Lindsey Buckingham, The Head & the Heart, Reignwolf, John Mellencamp, Jim James (of My Morning Jacket), Eddie Vedder, Lucius & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on August 26, 2016 by Republic Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Roadies is created by Cameron Crowe and stars Carla Gugino, Luke Wilson, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, Colson Baker, Ron White, Luis Guzman, Jacqueline Byers and Rainn Wilson. Rectangle Productions will release a soundtrack album for the French drama Nocturama. The album features the film’s original music written by the movie’s director Bertrand Bonello (Saint Laurent (Saint Laurent, House of Tolerance). Also included are songs performed by Shirley Bassey, Blondie, Chief Keef and Heartsrevolution, as well as John Barry’s theme from The Persuaders. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 26, 2016. Nocturama is written and directed by Bonello and stars Finnegan Oldfield, Vincent Rottiers, Manal Issa and Hamza Meziani. Chris Bacon has composed the music for the pilot of the upcoming Amazon original series The Tick. The show is created by Ben Edlund (Supernatural, Titan A.E.) based on his own comic book series and stars Peter Serafinowicz, Griffin Newman, Jackie Earle Haley, Valorie Curry, Yara Martinez and Brendan Hine. The superhero comedy follows an underdog accountant with zero powers in a city owned by a global villain who was thought to be dead. A soundtrack album has been released for the Japanese monster movie Godzilla Resurgence (aka Shin Godzilla). The album features the film’s original music composed by Shiro Sagisu (Attack on Titan, Bleach, Neon Genesis Evangelion) and Akira Ifukube. The soundtrack is now available in Japan and will be released in the U.S. on October 11, 2016. Visit Amazon to pre-order the album. No word yet on a domestic release. Godzilla Resurgence is co-directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi and stars Hiroki Hasegawa, Satomi Ishihara and Yutaka Takenouchi. The 6-parter follows the chaotic and violent struggle to control wealth and power in the North American fur trade of the late 18th century.
