Bear McCreary has been tapped to score the upcoming sci-fi thriller Colossal. The film is written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes) and stars Anne Hathaway, Jason Sudeikis, Dan Stevens, Austin Stowell and Tim Blake Nelson. The movie follows a party girl who discovers a mysterious connection between herself and a giant monster wreaking havoc on the other side of the globe. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s first two seasons composed by Paul Haslinger (Underworld, Fear the Walking Dead, Sleeper Cell, The Three Musketeers, Death Race). The album features the film’s original music composed by Stephen Raynor-Endelman (Flirting with Disaster, Evelyn, Home of the Brave, Madoff). Greater is directed by David Hunt and stars Christopher Severio, Neal McDonough, Leslie Easterbrook, Michael Parks, Nick Searcy and Fredric Lehne. Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack release for the 1985 action sequel Rambo: First Blood Part II directed by George P. Cosmatos and starring Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Charles Napier and Steven Berkoff. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Omen, Planet of the Apes, Patton, L.A. Confidential) who previously scored the first movie in the franchise. The 2-CD set features the complete score on the first disc, as well as the 35mm three-channel mixes and several extras on the second disc. Steven Price revealed in a recent interview with Collider that he has started work on Edgar Wright’s upcoming action crime comedy Baby Driver. No details about his exact involvement are known yet as the composer calls the project “not a traditionally scored film.” The movie written and directed by Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) stars Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm, Jon Bernthal, Sky Ferreira and Kevin Spacey. ‘Game of Thrones’ Live Concert Experience Announced

Live Nation Entertainment announced today the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience. The show’s composer Ramin Djawadi (Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Warcraft) will participate in the concert tour with a full orchestra and choir. The concert experience produced and promoted by Live Nation in partnership with HBO Global Licensing, will use innovative music tour production and video technology that will recreate the various realms found throughout Westeros and Essos as well as showcase footage from the show in addition to all new imagery created exclusively for the tour, which will kick off on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in Kansas City, Mo. and visit 28 cities across North America with shows scheduled at such venues as Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Forum in Los Angeles, as well as arenas in Montreal, Boston, Houston, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Washington DC & more. Premiering on Friday, August 12, is the Netflix original series The Get Down executive produced by Baz Luhrmann and starring Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, Herizen Guardiola, Skylan Brooks, Tremaine Brown Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jimmy Smits. The show’s original score is composed by Elliott Wheeler (Restraint). RCA Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the songs performed by the drama’s cast, as well as tracks by Nas (who also serves as an executive producer on the project), Miguel, Christina Aguilera, Zayn, Michael Kiwanuka, Leon Bridges, Jaden Smith, Raury & more. Mercury Classics to Release James Horner’s ‘Collage – The Last Work’

Mercury Classics will release James Horner‘s concert piece, Collage, which was the composer’s last work before he passed away last summer. The concerto for four horns and orchestra was commissioned by the Houston Symphony and the International Horn Society and premiered in March of 2015 at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Horner (Titanic, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind, Braveheart, Apollo 13, The Amazing Spider-Man) recorded the concert work with the London Philharmonic Orchestra just a few weeks before his passing.
