Premiering today is the mini-series The Kennedys – After Camelot starring Katie Holmes, Matthew Perry, Alexander Siddig, Kristen Hager, Brett Donahue, Diana Hardcastle and Kristin Booth. The 2-parter’s original music is composed by Jamie Forsyth (Bones). The drama is the sequel to the 2011 mini-series The Kennedys, which was co-scored by Sean Callery, and centers on the life of the former First Lady of the United States, Jacqueline Kennedy in the aftermath of the assassination of her husband. Premiering tomorrow in the U.S. is the British mini-series The Great Train Robbery written by Chris Chibnall, directed by Julian Jarrold & James Strong and starring Luke Evans, Jack Roth, Neil Maskell, Paul Anderson, Martin Compston,Del Synnott and Jack Gordon. Paul Englishby (An Education, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, The Musketeers) has composed the 2-parter’s original music. Soundtrack Album for CBS’ ‘Limitless’ Series Released

A soundtrack album has been released for the CBS drama Limitless. The album features the selections from the show’s original music composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan (Dredd, MI-5, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D, The Numbers Station) who received an Emmy Award nomination for his work on the project and also scored the 2011 feature the series is based on. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Limitless is developed by Craig Sweeny and stars Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter & Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. The drama, which follows Brian Sinclair as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT and is coerced into using his newfound drug-enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI, aired between 2015 and 2016 on CBS. Jeff Beal’s ‘Boston’ Soundtrack to Be Released

Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Boston. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Pollock, Blackfish, Monk, Appaloosa, Ugly Betty). The soundtrack will be released on April 7, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Boston is directed by Jon Dunham (Spirit of the Marathon), executive produced by Frank Marshall and narrated by Matt Damon. The movie tells the story of the Boston Marathon from its beginning in 1897 to present day and chronicles the growth, change, triumph and tragedy of the iconic race, demonstrating how it has both reflected and catalyzed social change. Penka Kouneva to Score ‘Encounter’

Penka Kouneva has been tapped to score the upcoming sci-fi drama Encounter. The film is written and directed by Paul Salamoff and stars Luke Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Cheryl Texiera, Tom Atkins, Dean S. Jagger, Vincent M. Ward and Christopher Showerman. The film movie follows a group of friends who make a remarkable discovery in a rural field. Two new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is DreamWorks Animation’s The Boss Baby directed by Tom McGrath and featuring the voices of Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow and Miles Bakshi. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, Inception, The Dark Knight) and Steve Mazzaro (Bullet to the Head). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Check out our previous article for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell directed by Rupert Sanders and starring Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbæk, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt. Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, Noah) and Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Terminator Genisys) have composed the film’s original music. Paramount Pictures has released a soundtrack album featuring songs from and inspired by the movie (click here for the full details). ‘The Blackcoat’s Daughter’ Soundtrack Released

Death Waltz Recordings has released a soundtrack album for the horror thriller The Blackcoat’s Daughter. The album features the film’s original music composed by Elvis Perkins. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. Mondo will release a vinyl version next month. The Blackcoat’s Daughter is directed by Osgood Perkins and stars Emma Roberts, Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Boynton, Lauren Holly and James Remar. Music from Dan Ireland’s ‘Hate from a Distance’ & ‘A Most Peculiar Man’ to Be Released

Redrocca will release the scores for two shorts by late director Dan Ireland, Hate from a Distance and A Most Peculiar Man. The music for both films is composed by Tom Howe (Charming) and Harry Gregson-Williams (The Martian, The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, Kingdom of Heaven) who also worked with the filmmaker on the features The Whole Wide World, Jolene and Passionada. ‘Break the Locks’ from Netflix’s ‘The Get Down’ Released

RCA Records has released the original song Break the Locks from the second part of the Netflix original series The Get Down. The track is performed by cast members Skylan Brooks, Tremaine Brown, Jr., Jaden Smith, Justice Smith & Shameik Moore and is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. ‘Gifted’ Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Marc Webb’s drama Gifted. The album features the film’s original score composed by Rob Simonsen (The Spectacular Now, Nerve, Going In Style, Foxcatcher, The Way Way Back) who previously collaborated with the director on (500) Days of Summer. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 7, 2017. Also included is a track by Timothy Seth Avett and Crooked Still’s song Pretty Bird. Gifted starring Chris Evans, Mckenna Grace, Lindsay Duncan, Jenny Slate and Octavia Spencer.
