Jóhann Jóhannsson‘s manager Tim Husom revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the composer had signed on to score Disney’s upcoming fantasy drama Christopher Robin before he passed away last week. The film directed by Marc Forster (Finding Neverland, World War Z) and starring Ewan McGregor & Hayley Atwell tells the story of Robin, the little boy from the Winnie the Pooh series, who is now all-grown-up and lost all sense of imagination. The movie is currently set to be released on August 3, 2018. Jóhannsson was also set to score the upcoming HBO mini-series Chernobyl as revealed by the project’s creator Craig Mazin last week. The 5-parter starring Jared Harris tells the true story of the men and women who sacrificed to save Europe from unimaginable disaster. Among the composer’s last completed scores for movies still to be released in the U.S. are The Mercy, Mandy and Mary Magdalene, which he co-scored with Hildur Guðnadóttir and which was recorded in January at AIR Studios in London.
