Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure The Mummy directed by Alex Kurtzman and starring Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe. The film’s original music is composed by Brian Tyler (Fast & Furious, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Now You See Me, Thor: The Dark World). Back Lot Music has released a digital deluxe edition soundtrack today and will release a CD version next week. Also opening wide is the horror thriller It Comes at Night written and directed by Trey Edward Shults and starring Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, Carmen Ejogo, Riley Keough and Kelvin Harrion Jr. Brian McOmber (Krisha, A Teacher, Ugly) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Masterworks will release the official soundtrack album for the fantasy adventure The Dark Tower. The album features the film’s original music composed by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Divergent, Black Mass, 300: Rise of an Empire). The soundtrack will be released on August 4, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on
Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans are set to reteam with director Matthew Ross on the upcoming thriller Siberia. The film starring Keanu Reeves, Ana Ularu, Pasha Lychnikoff and Molly Ringwald. The movie follows an American diamond merchant who travels to Russia to sell rare blue diamonds of questionable origin and finds himself in a love-obsessed relationship with a Russian cafe owner. Scott B. Smith (A Simple Plan, The Ruins) wrote the screenplay. Reeves is also producing the project with Stephen Hamel (Passengers, Henry’s Crime), Gabriela Bacher (What a Man), Braden Aftergood and David Hansen (Lovesong).

The Orchard will release a soundtrack album for the indie comedy drama The Hero. The album features the film’s original music composed by Keegan DeWitt (I’ll See You in My Dreams, Morris from America, Divorce, Making History, Listen Up Philip). Warp Records will release the official soundtrack album for the indie crime thriller Good Time. The album features the film’s original music composed by Oneohtrix Point Never, including a track with vocals and lyrics co-written by Iggy Pop. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on August 11, 2017 and will be available for pre-order on
Columbia will release a soundtrack album for the animated sequel Despicable Me 3. The album features the original songs and themes from the movie written by Pharrell Williams, including the original track Yellow Light, which will be released tomorrow. Also included are songs by a-ha, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Nena, as well as a suite from the movie’s original score by Heitor Pereira (The Angry Birds Movie, The Smurfs) who previously scored the first two movies and the spin-off Minions. Air-Edel Records has released a soundtrack album for the Polish drama Spoor. The album features the film’s original music composed by Antoni Komasa-Lazarkiewicz (In Darkness, Rosemary’s Baby mini-series). The soundtrack is now available to download on
George Kallis has been hired to score the upcoming historical drama Cliffs of Freedom. The film marks the feature directorial debut of visual effects artist Van Ling and stars Christopher Plummer, Tania Raymonde, Patti LuPone, Kevin Corrigan, Jan Uddin, Billy Zane and Raza Jeffrey. The movie centers on the ill-fated romance between a Greek village girl and a conflicted Turkish officer during the dawn of the Greek War for Independence against the Ottoman Empire in 1821. Ling also wrote the screenplay based on a story by Marianne Metropoulos who is producing the project with Casey Cannon.
