Wayfind Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix original movie Small Crimes. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brooke Blair & Will Blair (Green Room, Blue Ruins, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore), as well as the song Conquista y Poder, a collaboration with Rei Alvarez of salsa legends Bio Ritmo (listen to the track after the jump). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 9, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Small Crimes is directed by Evan Katz and stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Jacki Weaver, Robert Forster, Gary Cole, Molly Parker and Pat Healy. Will Bates and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith have composed the original music for the upcoming documentary CounterPunch. The film is directed by Jay Bulger (Beware of Mr. Baker) and tells the true stories of a number of three young boxers at different stages of their career make sacrifices to pursue their dreams of becoming champions. ‘Legion’ Volume 2 Soundtrack Announced

Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the FX original series Legion. The album features more original music from the show’s first season composed by Jeff Russo (Fargo, The Night Of, Power). Also included are the special Legion “Fauxlero” version of Maurice Ravel’s Bolero and Dan Stevens performing The Muppets’ classic The Rainbow Connection on banjo. The Volume 2 soundtrack will be released digitally on June 9, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack album for the show back in February when the series premiered. Legion is created by Noah Hawley based on the Marvel Comics and stars Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Aubrey Plaza, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder, Katie Aselton and Bill Irwin. Thomas Newman to Score Stephen Frears’ ‘Victoria and Abdul’

Thomas Newman has been tapped to score the upcoming period drama Victoria and Abdul. The film is directed by Stephen Frears (Philomena, The Queen, Dangerous Liaisons) and stars Judi Dench, Ali Fazal, Eddie Izzard, Adeel Akthar and Michael Gambon. The movie centers on Queen Victoria’s unlikely friendship with Abdul Karim, a young clerk, who travels from India to participate in the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. Lee Hall (Billy Elliot) wrote the screenplay based on the book by Shrabani Basu. Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Atonment, Love Actually, Elizabeth) are producing the Working Title and BBC Films production with Beeban Kidron (Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason) and Tracey Seaward (The Queen, Dirty Pretty Things). A soundtrack album has been released for the documentary Betting on Zero. The album features the film’s original music composed by Pete Anthony who is best known as an orchestrator and conductor for such composers as James Newton Howard, John Powell, Danny Elfman and Theodore Shapiro. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Betting on Zero is directed by Ted Braun (Darfur Now) and delves into the complex world of Herbalife, the international nutritional supplement company accused of fostering a pyramid. David Newman is scoring the upcoming Netflix original movie Naked. The comedy is directed by Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House, Fifty Shades of Black) and stars Marlon Waynes, Regina Hall, Jonathan Todd Jackson, Scott Fole, Loretta Devine, Brian McKnight and Dennis Haysbert. The movie is based on the 2000 Swedish film Naken follows a charming man-child who wakes up on his wedding day, naked in an elevator, and relives the hour before the ceremony over and over again. Wayans and Rick Alvarez (White Chicks, Little Man) wrote the screenplay and are also producing the project with Todd Garner (Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Knight and Day) and Ryan Lewis. The film starring Shane Graham, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Sasha Alexander, Ali Afshar, Bryan Craig, George Kosturos and Jessica Michelle is based on the inspiring true story of BMX champion John Buultjens, a young teen who is rescued when he is fostered by an unlikely interracial couple, including the foster father who wins the kid over when he buys him his first bicycle. Premiering tomorrow, May 29, is the new ABC drama Still Star-Crossed created by Heather Mitchell, executive produced by Shonda Rhimes and starring Grant Bowler, Wade Briggs, Torrance Coombs, Dan Hildebrand, Lashana Lynch, Ebonee Noel, Medalion Rahimi, Zuleikha Robinson, Sterling Sulieman, Susan Wooldridge and Anthony Head. The show’s original music is composed by Photek who also scores the Rhimes-produced ABC drama How to Get Away with Murder. The series picks up where the famous story of Romeo and Juliet ends, charting the treachery, fight for power and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate. ‘Genius’ Soundtrack Album to Be Released

Milan Records will release the first full soundtrack album for the Nat Geo original series Genius. The album features selections from the original music of the show’s first season composed by Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Home, Terminator Genisys, Marcella). Listen to a track from the album after the jump. The label has previously released a soundtrack EP featuring Balfe’s score, Hans Zimmer’s main title theme and three classical pieces.
