Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for Orson Welles’ 1965 drama Chimes at Midnight (Falstaff) starring the director himself, Jeanne Moureau, Margaret Rutherford, Fernando Rey, John Gielgud and Alan Webb. The 2-CD set features the expanded and remastered original music from the film composed by Angelo Francesco Lavagnino (Lost Continent, An American in New York, Othello, The Naked Maja), including the restored original 1966 soundtrack album on the first disc and the complete score on the second disc. ‘The Other Side of the Wind’ Soundtrack Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a soundtrack album for Orson Welles’ final movie The Other Side of the Wind. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Michel Legrand (The Thomas Crown Affair, Yentl, Summer of ’42, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Never Say Never Again). Michel Legrand Scoring Orson Welles’ ‘The Other Side of the Wind’
Variety is reporting that Michel Legrand is currently scoring Orson Welles’ final film The Other Side of the Wind. The satire starring John Huston, Bob Random, Peter Bogdanovich, Susan Strasberg & Oja Kodar was shot between 1970 and 1976 and never finished and released until restoration work began a few years ago. The movie follows the final days of a legendary director striving for a comeback. Frank Marshall (Raiders of Lost Ark, Jurassic World, The Sixth Sense) and Filip Jan Rymsza are producing the project.
