Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the action thriller American Assassin directed by Michael Cuesta and starring Dylan O’Brien, Michael Keaton, Sanaa Lathan, Taylor Kitsch, Shiva Negar and Scott Adkins. The film’s original music is composed by Steven Price (Gravity, Suicide Squad, Fury, Baby Driver, The World’s End). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the psychological thriller mother! written and directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Brian Gleeson, Domhnall Gleeson, Stephen McHattie and Kristen Wiig. he film doesn’t feature an original score. Johann Johannsson who was originally scoring the film is credited as the project’s “music & sound consultant”. No soundtrack album has been released. Nathan Barr is set to reunite with director Eli Roth on the upcoming gothic horror movie The House with a Clock in Its Walls. Jack Black and Cate Blanchett are attached to star in the film based on John Bellairs’ 1973 book of the same title about a recently orphaned 10-year-old boy who discovers a world of hidden passageways, magic, and danger in his uncle’s old house. Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Timeless) wrote the screenplay and will also producing the Amblin Entertainment and Mythology Entertainment production with Brad Fischer (Shutter Island) and James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Truth). 
Madison Gate Records will release a score album for the NBC drama The Blacklist. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Dave Porter (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Preacher, The Disaster Artist). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, September 22, and is now available for pre-order on 
MovieScore Media has released a soundtrack album for the British sports drama My Name Is Lenny. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ian Arber (I Am Bolt). The soundtrack is now available to download on 
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for David Gordon Green’s drama Stronger. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Brook (Brooklyn, Into the Wild, The Fighter, The Perks of Being a Wallflower). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 22, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on 
Sony Classical will release a score album for the MTV original series Teen Wolf. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Dino Meneghin (Eye Candy, Killing Gunther). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 15. The download link will be added to this article over night. 
WaterTower Music will release the official soundtrack album for the animated feature The LEGO Ninjago Movie. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Royal Tenenbaums, 21/22 Jump Street, Thor: Ragnarok) who previously scored 2014’s original The LEGO Movie. Also included are songs by Blaze n Vill, Jingle Punks, Oh, Hush!, The De Luca Brothers, Louis Cole & Genevieve Artadi, as well as several tracks performed by beatboxing flautist Greg Patillo. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 15 and will be available to download on 
Epic Records will release the original song If I Dare from the drama Battle of Sexes. The track is performed by Sara Bareilles and co-written by the singer/songwriter and the film’s composer Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, The Big Short). The song will be released as a digital single tomorrow and will be available to download on 
The full details of the soundtrack album for the animated feature My Little Pony: The Movie have been revealed. The album features the songs from the film performed by the film’s cast, the original song Rainbow by Sia (which will be available to download tomorrow), as well as track by DNCE, Lukas Graham, CL, Jessie James Decker, Rachel Platten & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on September 22, 2017 by RCA Records and is now available for pre-order on 
Andrew Kawczynski has recently recorded his music for the upcoming Chinese war action drama Sky Hunter. Hans Zimmer serves as the score producer. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Li Chen who also stars in the movie alongside Fan Bingbing, Wang Qianyuan, Li Jiahang and Leon Lee. The movie follows an elite air force who are called into action to resolve a hostage crisis and foil a terrorist plot. Jianmin Lv (Wolf Warrior) is producing the project. Kawczynski has previously contributed additional music to numerous scores by Zimmer, including Man of Steel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Chappie.
