Quartet Records will release a soundtrack album for the psychological thriller Cold Skin. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Victor Reyes (The Night Manager, Buried, Grand Piano, Red Lights). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 17 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. A physical release is set for later this month. Cold Skin is directed by Xavier Gens (Hitman) and stars Ray Stevenson, David Oakes and Aura Garrido. The movie is based on the best-seller of the same title by Albert Sanchez Piñol and revolves around a young man who visits a remote island on the edge of the Antarctic Circle to relieve a weather observer, but finds a deranged castaway who has witnessed a horror he refuses to name. The movie centers on a young Tunisian woman who’s raped by police officers after leaving a party and is propelled into a harrowing night in which she must fight for her rights. John Carpenter Confirmed to Score David Gordon Green’s ‘Halloween’

John Carpenter confirmed in a recent interview with Billboard the he has closed a deal to score the upcoming horror sequel Halloween. David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, All the Real Girls, Stronger) is set to direct the movie, which will star Jamie Lee Curtis who will reprise her role as Laurie Strode. Judy Greer in talks to play her daughter, Karen Strode. Green also co-wrote the screenplay with Danny McBride. Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, Paranormal Activity, Insidious) is producing the project through his Blumhouse company, alongside Malek Akkad who previously produced Rob Zombie’s Halloween and its sequel. Ruth Barrett has been tapped to score the upcoming BBC mini-series Collateral. The show is created by David Hare (The Hours, The Reader, Denial) and stars Carey Mulligan, John Simm, Nicola Walker and Billie Piper. The 4-parter thriller is set over four days in present-day London and explores the spiraling consequences of the fatal shooting of a pizza delivery man. S.J. Clarkson who previously collaborated with Barrett on last year’s Love, Nina is directing all episodes. He is also executive producing the project with Hare, George Faber & Mark Pybus for The Forge and Lucy Richer for the BBC.
Expected to top the weekend box office is the horror thriller Happy Death Day directed by Christopher Landon and starring Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Ruby Modine, Charles Aitken and Laura Clifton. The film’s original music is composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander, Colossal).
