Stuart Earl is composing the music for the upcoming BBC mini-series Ordeal by Innocence. The drama is written by Sarah Phelps (The Casual Vacancy, The Crimson Field) based on Agatha Christie’s classic novel and stars Bill Nighy, Catherine Keener, Matthew Goode, Eleanor Tomlinson, Anthony Boyle, Luke Treadaway, Morven Christie, Crystal Clarke, Ella Purnell and Alice Eve. Sandra Goldbacher (Victoria, The Hour) is directing the 3-parter, which revolves around the murder of a wealthy philanthropist in 1954, and Roopesh Parekh (Poldark) is producing the series. Phelps is also executive producing the project with Karen Thrussell, Damien Timmer, Helen Ziegler, James Prichard, Basi Akpabio and Gaynor Holmes. Read the rest of this entry »

Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the drama Before I Fall. The album features the film’s original music composed by Adam Taylor (The Handmaid’s Tale, Meadowland, Damnation). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 1 and is now available for pre-order on AmazonBefore I Fall is directed by Ry Russo-Young and stars Zoey Deutch, Halston Sage, Logan Miller, Kian Lawley, Elena Kampouris, Diego Boneta, Jennifer Beals, Cynthy Wu and Medalion Rahimi. Danny Elfman is set to score the upcoming animated feature How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The film is directed by Pete Candeland & Yarrow Cheney (The Secret Life of Pets) and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of the title character. The movie is based on Dr. Seuss’ classic tale about the titular grouch who plots to ruin Christmas for the residents of his neighboring village of Whoville. Michael LeSieur (You, Me and Dupree) wrote the screenplay. Chris Meledandri & Janet Healy (Despicable Me, Minions, The Lorax) and Scott Mosier (Free Birds, Dogma, Clerks) are producing the Illumination Entertainment production. Read the rest of this entry »

Mondo has released a new soundtrack album for the comedy Ingrid Goes West. The album features the film’s original music composed by Islands frontman Nick Thorburn and Jonathan Sadoff (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, The Meddler, The Mick). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Lakeshore Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie earlier this year. Ingrid Goes West  is co-written and directed by Matt Spicer and stars Aubrey Plaza, Elizabeth Olsen, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Wyatt Russell and Billy Magnussen. ‘Lazer Team 2’ Soundtrack Released

Rooster Teeth has released a soundtrack album for the sci-fi comedy sequel Lazer Team 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Carl Thiel (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, Machete Kills, Last Man Standing, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For). Also included are songs by The Force and Protextor & Brother Bear. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Lazer Team 2 is directed by Daniel Fabelo & Matt Hullum and stars Colton Dunn, Burnie Burns Gavin Free, Michael Jones, Nichole Bloom and Victoria Pratt. Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack EP for Disney’s Tangled: The Series. The EP features four original songs from the show written by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the BeastThe Little Mermaid, AladdinEnchanted) and featuring lyrics by Glenn Slater (Galavant), including the tracks Let Me Make You Proud performed by Jeremy Jordan (as Varian) and I’ve Got This by Mandy Moore (as Rapunzel) from tonight’s episode Queen for a Day. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 20 and will be available to download on Amazon. Tangled: The Series is developed by Shane Prigmore & Chris Sonnenburg based on Disney’s 2010 feature Tangled and features the voices of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Julie Bowen, Clancey Brown, Eden Espinosa, Jeff Ross, Richard Kind, Jeffrey Tambor and Paul F. Premiering on Tuesday, November 21, is the Marvel’s new Hulu original series Runaways created by Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage based on the Marvel Comics property and starring Gregg Sulkin, Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer and Allegra Acosta. Premiering on Wednesday, November 22, is the Netflix original mini-series Godless written and directed by Scott Frank and starring Jeff Daniels, Jack O’Connell, Michelle Dockery, Scoot McNairy, Sam Waterston, Kim Coates, Audrey Moore, Christiane Seidel, Randy Oglesby, Justin Welborn, Christopher Fitzgerald, Samantha Soule and Whitney Able. Music for Vision will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Butterfly Tree. The album features the film’s original music composed by Caitlin Yeo (The Rocket, Black & White & Sex). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 23, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Butterfly Tree is written and directed by Priscilla Cameron and stars Melissa George, Ewen Leslie, Ed Oxenbould and Sophie Lowe. The movie follows a father and his son who find their joie de vivre rekindled for the first time since the death of their matriarch by the arrival a mysterious yet enchanting florist. A soundtrack album has been announced for the indie drama American Folk. The album features the film’s original music composed by folk musicians Joe Purdy & Amber Rubarth, as well as their renditions of classic folk songs and John Prine’s Some Humans Ain’t Human and Jerry Garcia & David Grisman’s Freight Train. The soundtrack will be released digitally and  physically (on CD and vinyl) on January 26, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. American Folk is written and directed by David Heinz and stars Purdy, Rubarth, Krisha Fairchild and David Fine. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the comic book movie Justice League directed by Zack Snyder and starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Ezra Miller, Jason Monoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J.K. Simmons and Ciarán Hinds. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (BatmanSpider-ManAlice in Wonderland).
