Two new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp directed by Peyton Reed and starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Walton Goggins, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Tip “T.I.” Harris, David Dastmalchian, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne and Michael Douglas. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover, The Muppets, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Marvel Music and Hollywood Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Click here for the full album details.

Already playing in theaters since Wednesday is the thriller The First Purge directed by Gerard McMurray and starring Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez and Marisa Tomei. Kevin Lax (Burning Sands, Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life) has composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Joe Jonas’ Original Song ‘It’s Party Time’ from ‘Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation’ Released

Madison Gate Records has released the original song It’s Party Time from the animated sequel Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. The track is written by David Foster & Michael Bublé and performed by Joe Jonas. The song is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation is directed by Genndy Tartakovsky and feature the voices of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Keegan-Michael Key, Molly Shannon, Fran Drescher and Mel Brooks. Will Bates to Score Syfy’s & Netflix’s ‘Nightflyers’

Will Bates is composing the music for the upcoming Syfy original series Nightflyers. The show is developed by Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary, Jacob’s Ladder) based on George R.R. Martin’s novella and the 1987 film of the same name and stars Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, Angus Sampson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Brian F. O’Byrne and Gretchen Mol. The drama is set in the year 2093 and follows a team of scientists aboard the Nightflyer, the most advanced ship ever built, as they embark on a journey to find other life forms. Niall Horan’s Original Song ‘Finally Free’ from ‘Smallfoot’ Released

Capitol Records has released the original song Finally Free from the upcoming animated feature Smallfoot. The track is performed by Niall Horan who also co-wrote the song with Alexander Izquierdo, John Ryan, Julian Bunetta and Tobias Jesso Jr. Finally Free is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. Smallfoot is directed by Karey Kirkpatrick (Over the Hedge) and features the voices of Channing Tatum, James Corden, Zendaya, Common, LeBron James, Gina Rodriguez, Danny DeVito, Yara Shahidi, Ely Henry and Jimmy Tatro. The album features the film’s original music composed by Peter Raeburn (Woodshock, The Lie, Molly Moon and the Incredible Book of Hypnotism). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Nancy is written and directed by Christina Choe and stars Andrea Riseborough, J. ‘Cloak & Dagger’ Score Album Details

The full details of the first score album for Marvel’s Freeform original series Cloak & Dagger have been revealed. The album features selections from the original score of the show’s first season composed by Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, The Accountant, Blade, Miracle, 42). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 6 by Marvel Music and Hollywood Records and will be available to download on Amazon. A separate soundtrack featuring songs from the series has previously been released last month. Season 1 of Cloak & Dagger created by Joe Pokaski based on the Marvel Comic characters by Bill Mantlo & Ed Hannigan and starring Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, James Saito and J.D. 6th Annual Superhero Music Panel at Comic-Con Announced

The line-up of the 6th Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero panel has been announced. The event offers a behind-the-scenes look at the music of today’s biggest superhero film and TV projects with unreleased film clips and never-before-heard music. Participating composers include Marco Beltrami whose superhero movie scoring credits include Logan, The Wolverine, Fantastic Four and Hellboy, Christophe Beck who recently scored Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp and previously scored the original Ant-Man movie, as well as Elektra and Tyler Bates who recently scored Deadpool 2 and has also composed the music for the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, as well as the Watchmen film adaptation.  Read the rest of this entry »

‘Hover’ Soundtrack Released

Data Airlines has released a soundtrack album for the sci-fi thriller Hover. The album features the film’s original music composed by Wojciech Golczewski (We Are Still Here, 400 Days, Beyond the Gates). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. A limited vinyl edition is available to order here. Hover is directed by Matt Osterman and stars Cleopatra Coleman (who also wrote the screenplay), Shane Coffey, Craig muMs Grant, Fabianne Therese and Rhoda Griffis. The movie takes place in the near future, where environmental strain has caused food shortages around the world and follows two compassionate care providers who work to assist sick farmland inhabitants in ending their lives. Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the drama Inheritance. The album features the film’s original music composed and produced by Rafaël Leloup. The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 13, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Inheritance is written and directed by Kaye & Laura E. Davis and stars Jessica Kaye, Mark Webber and Daniel Ahearn.
