Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the superhero movie Deadpool 2 directed by David Leitch and starring Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, Brianna Hildebrand and Jack Kesy. The film’s original score is composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, 300, Watchmen, John Wick, The Punisher). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Click here for the full details. Columbia Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie (click here for more information).

Also opening wide is the comedy Book Club directed by Bill Holderman and starring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen, Craig T. Nelson, Andy Garcia and Don Johnson. Peter Nashel (I, Tonya, The Night Listener, Bee Season, Marco Polo) has composed the film’s original score. The movie also features an original song, Living in the Moment, written by Carole Bayer Sager, Walter Afanasieff & Jay Landers and performed by Katharine McPhee. Soundtrack Album for ‘Riverdale’ Season 2 Released

WaterTower Music has released a new soundtrack album for the CW drama Riverdale. The album features the songs recorded for the show’s second season performed by cast members including Ashleigh Murray, K.J. App, Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart, Asha Bromfield, Hayley Law, Madelaine Petsch and Casey Cott. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. The label has previously released soundtracks featuring the songs & score from the first season, an album for the Carrie the Musical episode, as well as digital singles of the individual songs. Academy to Present ‘The Sherman Brothers: A Hollywood Songbook’

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its summer programming lineup, which includes an evening dedicated to Oscar-winning songwriters Richard M. Sherman & Robert Sherman, best known for their classic songs for movies such as Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The Sherman Brothers: A Hollywood Songbook will take place on June 20 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, CA and will feature appearances by Richard Sherman himself, composer Michael Giacchino (Up, Jurassic World, Star Trek, Lost), film critic Leonard Maltin, director Pete Docter & producer Jonas Rivera (Up, Inside Out) and actors B.J. ‘Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments’ Score Album Released

Hollywood Records has released a new soundtrack album for the Freeform original series Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Trevor Morris (Immortals, Olympus/London Has Fallen, Vikings, The Borgias) and Jack Wall (Mass Effect, Call of Duty: Black Ops II). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Def Jam Recordings has released a soundtrack EP for the Netflix docu-series Rapture. The EP features six hip hop tracks from the show by G-Eazy, Dave East, T.I., Killer Mike & 3 Chainz and Logic. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Rapture also features Nas, Rapsody and Just Blaze and dives into the artists’ lives with their families and friends, to sitting front row in the studio and grinding on tour, to experiencing the ecstatic power of moving the crowd. Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the FX original series Legion. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Fargo, The Night Of, Star Trek: Discovery, Snowfall, Counterpart, Power). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 25, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released two soundtracks featuring the composer’s score from the first season. A separate album featuring the cover songs from the series is also in the works. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society starring Lily James, Michiel Huisman, Glen Powell, Matthew Goode, Jessica Brown Findlay, Tom Courtenay & Penelope Wilton is based on Mary Ann Shaffer’s & Annie Barrows’ 2008 novel and follows a free-spirited journalist who bonds with the eccentric residents of Guernsey when she decides to write about the book club they formed during the WWII German occupation. Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for Wim Wenders’ documentary Pope Francis: A Man of His Word. The album features the film’s original music composed by Laurent Petitgand who has previously scored the director’s 1993 feature Faraway, So Close!, 1995’s Beyond the Clouds and 2014’s The Salt of the Earth. Also included is the song These Are the Words by Patti Smith. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 18 and will be available to download on Amazon.
