The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its summer programming lineup, which includes an evening dedicated to Oscar-winning songwriters Richard M. Sherman & Robert Sherman, best known for their classic songs for movies such as Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The Sherman Brothers: A Hollywood Songbook will take place on June 20 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, CA and will feature appearances by Richard Sherman himself, composer Michael Giacchino (Up, Jurassic World, Star Trek, Lost), film critic Leonard Maltin, director Pete Docter & producer Jonas Rivera (Up, Inside Out) and actors B.J. Novak (who portrayed Robert Sherman in Saving Mr. Banks), Dick Van Dyke, Anthony Gonzalez, Lesley Ann Warren, performers LeAnn Rimes and Kenny Loggins and more. John Stamos will be hosting the event.
