Lee Mendelson Film Productions will release a new soundtrack album for the 1975 animated television special You’re a Good Sport, Charlie Brown created by Charles M. Schulz and directed by Phil Roman. The album features the premiere release of complete score from the fourteenth Peanuts special composed by Vince Guaraldi (A Charlie Brown Christmas, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Boy Named Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving). Also included are four additional bonus tracks from the 1973 LMFP project Bicycles Are Beautiful scored by Vince Guaraldi, who is joined by McCain on bass and Glenn Cronkhite on drums for those tracks. The film is directed by Toby Nowlan, Keith Scholey (African Cats, Bears) & Colin Butfield and presented and authored by the 98-year-old broadcaster who draws on his lifetime of knowledge and experience to take the audience on a journey of wonder through the planet’s most spectacular undersea habitats. ‘John Williams: The Anthology’ – Vol. 1 Box Set Announced

Sony Classical has announced John Williams: The Anthology – Vol. 1 1969-1990, the first installment of a three-part box set that celebrates the legendary composer and his deep body of work. The 22 discs in Volume 1 showcase Williams’ music for 27 films, including the first three Star Wars movie, the first two Indiana Jones installments, Jaws, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman , Born on the Fourth of July, Home Alone, along other titles. Each disc will be housed in a small jacket that can hold four discs, featuring cover graphics that showcase the original artwork, just as it appeared upon its initial release. Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British TV series Miss Austen written by Andrea Gibb based on Gill Hornby’s novel and starring Keeley Hawes, Rose Leslie, Patsy Ferran, Phyllis Logan, Synnøve Karlsen, Max Irons, Jessica Hynes, Alfred Enoch, Kevin McNally, Calam Lynch, Mirren Mack and Liv Hill. The show’s original music is composed by Dominik Scherrer (The Missing, The Tourist, The Widow, Primeval, Baptiste, The Serpent, Ripper Street, The Confessions of Frannie Langton, Requiem). Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past February following its debut in the UK on BBC One. Premiering on Thursday, May 8, is the Netflix original series Forever created by Mara Brock Akil based on Judy Blume’s novel of the same name and starring Lovie Simone, Michael Cooper Jr., Karen Pittman, Xosha Roquemore, Wood Harris, Marvin Winans III, Niles Fitch, Ali Gallo, Adriyan Rae, Barry Shabaka Henley, Paigion Walker, E’myri Crutchfield and Xavier Mills. Gary Gunn (A Thousand and One, Quad Gods, Maggie Black, David Makes Man, Master of Light) has composed the show’s original music. Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Friday. The 2-parter is directed by Niharika Desai (The Principles of Pleasure), narrated by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and centers on one of the most intelligent and mysterious life forms on Earth as it follows the Giant Pacific Octopus from birth to death. The special features an eclectic mix of characters who have their own unique connections to these creatures, from the explorer trying to understand them, the scientist trying to save them to actor/comedian Tracy Morgan who is obsessed with them. Adams, Merritt Wever, Peter Mullan, Eddie Marsan, Tony Curran, Nicholas Gleaves and Kevin McKidd. The 6-part series directed by Michael Keillor (Roadkill) is based on the true story of the bombing of a passenger flight over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie in 1988 and the quest to bring its perpetrators to justice.
