Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for the post-apocalyptic horror movie 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Hildur Guđnadóttir (Joker, Chernobyl, Women Talking, Tar, A Haunting in Venice, Hedda, Sicario: Day of the Soldado). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 16 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. The sequel to last year’s 28 Years Later (scored by Young Fathers) follows Dr. Kelson as finds himself in a shocking new relationship and Spike’s encounter with Jimmy Crystal ecomes a nightmare he can’t escape.

The film is directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting) and stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams and Ralph Fiennes. The movie takes place 28 years after the events of the 2002 original 28 Days Later film and its sequel 28 Weeks Later (both scored by John Murphy) and follows a group of survivors who have found ways to exist amidst the infected on a small island. When one of them leaves the island on a mission into the heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

Hildur Guđnadóttir (Joker, Chernobyl, A Haunting in Venice, Women Talking, Tar, Sicario: Day of the Soldado) is set to score the upcoming horror sequel 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple. The second part of a planned new trilogy is directed by Nia DaCosta (The Marvels,Candyman) and written by Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Civil War) & Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting) who scripted and directed the original 2002 28 Days Later movie (scored by John Murphy) and the first part of the new trilogy (28 Years Later, to be released in theaters on June 20, 2025). No casting announcements have been made yet, but Cillian Murphy is believed to reprise his role of Jim from the original film in both new installments.
