Premiering on Wednesday, July 25, is the Hulu original series Castle Rock developed by Sam Shaw & Dustin Thomason and starring André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Scott Glenn. Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty Finding Nemo) has composed the show’s main titles theme, as well as the first two episodes and Chris Westlake (Before We Go, Small Town Crime) has scored the other eight episodes of the first season. WaterTower Music has released Newman’s main theme and end titles music this past Friday. Check out our previous article for more information.
Also premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday is the Canadian legal drama Burden of Truth created by Brad Simpson and starring Kristin Kreuk, Peter Mooney, Star Slade, Nicola Correia-Damude and David Lawrence Brown. The show’s original music is composed by Ian LeFeuvre (The Detail, Carter) and Benjamin Pinkerton (Lost Girl, Dark Matter). Jody Colero serves as the project’s score producer and Shawn Pierce (The Bridge, Motive) has provided additional score to a few episodes. The series, which follows a big city lawyer who returns to her hometown to take the case of a group of girls suffering from a mysterious illness, aired earlier this year in Canada on CBC and is premiering stateside on The CW.
