The show is created by Beau Willimon (House of Cards, The Ides of March) and stars Sean Penn, Natascha McElhone, LisaGay Hamilton, Oded Fehr, James Ransone and Hannah Ware. Jesper Kyd has recently composed the music for the upcoming Indian fantasy thriller Tumbbad. The film directed by Rai Anil Barve & Adesh Prasad is set in 19th-century colonial India and is being described as a “fast-paced parable about greed.” Anand L Rai, Amita Shah, Mukesh Shah and Sohum Shah are producing the project. Kyd who is best for his video game scores in the Assassin’s Creed, Hitman and Borderlands series has previously scored movies including Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe and TV shows such as Metal Hurlant Chronicles. Nathan Matthew David has been hired to score the upcoming Syfy original series Deadly Class. The show is developed by Rick Remender & Miles Orion Feldsott based on Remender’s graphic novel of the same title and stars Benjamin Wadsworth, Benedict Wong, Lana Condor, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James and Michel Duval. The drama follows a homeless teen who is recruited into a storied elite private school where the world’s top crime families send their next generations. Remender and Feldsott are also executive producing the Sony Pictures TV and Universal Cable production with Joe & Anthony Russo (Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Mike Laroca (The Drop) and Mick Betancourt. The film is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey (Rise of the Guardians) & Rodney Rothman and features the voices of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Liev Schreiber, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez and Lily Tomlin. MovieScore Media has released a soundtrack album for Michael R. Roskam’s crime drama Racer and the Jaibird. The album features the film’s original music composed by Raf Keunen (BullheadJust a Sigh). Also included is the song Lettre d’un Taulard performed by Viktor Lazlo. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Racer and the Jailbird is co-written and directed by Roskam and stars Matthias Schoenaerts and Adèle Exarchopoulos. Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the comedy drama Juliet, Naked. The album features the songs from the movie performed by lead actor Ethan Hawke and written by Ryan Adams, Conor OberstRobyn Hitchcock and the film’s composer Nathan Larson (Boys Don’t Cry, Dirty Pretty Things, The Skeleton Twins, (Our) Idiot Brother). Also included is M. Ward’s War & Peace and two tracks from Larson’s score. The soundtrack will be released on August 17, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The film is directed by Bruce McDonald (Pontypool, Weirdos) and stars Stephen McHattie, Juliette Lewis, Tómas Lemarquis and Henry Rollins. The movie centers on a reluctant hitman who chases his jazz legend doppelganger through a city populated by street urchins, a vampire, and a crime kingpin. Premiering on Wednesday, July 25, is the Hulu original series Castle Rock developed by Sam Shaw & Dustin Thomason and starring André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Scott Glenn. Thomas Newman (The Shawshank RedemptionAmerican Beauty Finding Nemo) has composed the show’s main titles theme, as well as the first two episodes and Chris Westlake (Before We Go, Small Town Crime) has scored the other eight episodes of the first season. WaterTower Music has released Newman’s main theme and end titles music this past Friday. Check out our previous article for more information.

Also premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday is the Canadian legal drama Burden of Truth created by Brad Simpson and starring Kristin Kreuk, Peter Mooney, Star Slade, Nicola Correia-Damude and David Lawrence Brown. The show’s original music is composed by Ian LeFeuvre (The Detail, Carter) and Benjamin Pinkerton (Lost Girl, Dark Matter). Jody Colero serves as the project’s score producer and Shawn Pierce (The Bridge, Motive) has provided additional score to a few episodes. The series, which follows a big city lawyer who returns to her hometown to take the case of a group of girls suffering from a mysterious illness, aired earlier this year in Canada on CBC and is premiering stateside on The CW.
