Keith Power is scoring the upcoming CBS drama Magnum P.I. The series is developed by Peter M. Lenkov & Eric Guggenheim and stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill and Tim Kang. The show is a modern take on the classic 80s series and centers on a decorated former Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. Justin Lin (Fast & Furious, Star Trek: Beyond) has directed the pilot episode, which Power co-scored with Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Now You See Me) who will produce Power’s score for the rest of the season. Simon Franglen has recently composed the music for the upcoming action thriller Peppermint. The film is directed by Pierre Morel (Taken, From Paris with Love, The Gunman) and stars Jennifer Garner, John Ortiz, John Gallagher Jr. and Juan Pablo Raba. The movie tells the story of young mother who awakens from a coma after her husband and daughter are killed in a brutal attack on the family. Chad Fischer (Scandal, Private Practice, Chasing Mavericks, The Catch) has been tapped to score the upcoming indie comedy Eat, Brains, Love. The film is directed by Rodman Slender (Idle Hands, Leprechaun 2) and stars Jake Cannavale, Angelique Rivera, Sarah Yarkin, Jim Titus, Patrick Fabian, Ty Headlee,  Kristin Daniel and Kym Jackson. The movie follows two zombie virus-infected high school seniors as they run from a psychic sent by the government to track them down, and search for a cure for their affliction. Madison Gate Records has released the main title theme from the Amazon original series The Last Tycoon. The track is composed by Academy Award winner Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, The Good Dinosaur, Capote, Little Miss Sunshine) who also scored the show and recently received an Emmy Award nomination for the theme, which is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. The Last Tycoon is created by Billy Ray and stars Matt Bomer, Kelsey Grammer and Lily Collins. The drama based on F. The show is created by Jason Mosberg (Arsenal) and stars John Carroll Lynch, Nathaniel Martello-White, Chris Denham, Philip Ettinger, Kirrilee Berger, Gracie Lawrence, Joshua Bitton, Nike Uche Kadri and Hamilton Clancy. The mystery drama is set in a small rust belt town in post-recession America and charts the exchange of a one-dollar bill amongst a group of characters involved in a shocking multiple murder. ‘Yardie’ Soundtrack Details

Universal-Island Records will release a soundtrack album for Idris Elba’s feature directorial debut Yardie. The album features the songs from the movie by artists including Lord Creator, Yellowman, The Isley Brothers, Culture, Grace Jones, The Roots Radics, The Heptones, Skip Marley & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 24, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A vinyl & CD version is also in the works. Yardie is directed by Elba and stars Aml Ameen, Shantol Jackson, Stephen Graham, Fraser James, Sheldon Shepherd and Everaldo Cleary. The crime drama is based on the cult novel by Victor Headley and centers on a young Jamaican named “D” who arrives in London in the early 1980s and unexpectedly discovers the man who assassinated his revered brother in Jamaica a decade earlier. Ilan Eshkeri is composing the original music for the upcoming BBC series Informer. The show is written by Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, directed by Jonny Campbell (The Last Post, The Casual Vacancy) and stars Paddy Considine, Bel Powley, Nabhaan Rizwan, Jessica Raine, Sharon D. Clarke, Sunetra Sarker and Roger Jean Nsengiyumva. The 6-part thriller centers on a a young, second generation Pakistani man from East London who is coerced by a Counter-Terrorism officer to go undercover and inform for him. The World Soundtrack Academy has announced the first wave of nominees for the 2018 World Soundtrack Awards in the categories Film Composer of the Year, Best TV Composer and Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film. The winners will be announced at the World Soundtrack Awards & concert on Wednesday, October 17 at the Ghent International Film Festival. As previously reported, Philippe Sarde will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the event. Here are the nominations:
