Two new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure The Kid Who Would Be King written and directed by Joe Cornish and starring Louis Ashbourne Serkis, Dean Chaumoo, Tom Taylor, Rhianna Dorris, Angus Imrie, Rebecca Ferguson and Patrick Stewart. The film’s original music is composed by Electric Wave Bureau (Broken). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the music collective’s score. Click here for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the mystery thriller Serenity written and directed by Steven Knight and starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jason Clarke, Diane Lane, Djimon Hounsou and Jeremy Strong. Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Shazam!, Hidden Figures, Annabelle Creation) has composed the film’s original music. Ethan Gold Scoring Jacob Estes’ ‘Relive’

Ethan Gold (The Song of Sway Lake) has composed the original music for the upcoming thriller Relive. The film is directed by Jacob Estes (The Details) and stars David Oyelowo, Storm Reid, Mykelti Williamson, Alfred Molina, Brian Tyree Henry and Shinelle Azoroh. The movie follows a man who – after a man’s family dies in what appears to be a murder – gets a phone call from one of the dead, his niece. Estes also co-wrote the screenplay with Drew Daywalt. Soundtrack Album for The CW’s ‘The Outpost’ Released

Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album for The CW drama The Outpost. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by James Schafer (Mythica: The Iron Crown, The Christmas Dragon). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Outpost is created by Jason Faller & Kynan Griffin and stars Jessica Green, Jake Stormoen, Anand Desai Barochia, Imogen Waterhouse, Michael Flynn, Robyn Malcolm, Andrew Howard and Philip Brodi. The drama follows the lone survivor of a race called “Blackbloods” as she travels to a lawless fortress on the edge of the civilized world to track the killers of her family. Matthew Margeson Scoring ‘Into the Dark’ Episode ‘Down’

Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Eddie the Eagle, Rings, Truth or Dare) has recently scored the fifth episode of the Hulu anthology series Into the Dark. The episode, entitled Down, is directed by Daniel Stamm (The Last Exorcism, 13 Sins) and stars Natalie Martinez, Matt Lauria, Arnie Pantoja, Diane Sellers, and Christina Leone. Lakeshore Records will release the first soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Frontier. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Rampage, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 25 and will be available to download here. John Powell is reteaming with director Chris Sanders (The Croods, Lilo & Stitch) on the upcoming adventure drama Call of the Wild. The film stars Harrison Ford, Dan Stevens, Karen Gillan, Bradley Whitford, Cara Gee and Omar Sy. The movie is based on Jack London’s 1903 novel and tells the story of a sled dog that tries to survive the Alaskan wilderness as well as a series of abusive owners. Michael Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049) wrote the screenplay. Erwin Stoff (Edge of Tomorrow, Unbroken) is producing the project. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Miss Bala’ Soundtrack Details

Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the action thriller Miss Bala. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, 11.21.63, Roots, State of Play, Touching the Void, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom). Warner Music Group has released the original track Swan Song from the sci-fi action adventure Alita: Battle Angel. The song is performed by Dua Lipa who also co-wrote the track with the film’s composer Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL), Justin Tranter, Mattias Larsson, Robin Fredriksson, & Kennedi Lykken. Peter Raeburn (Woodshock, Nancy) has recently scored the upcoming drama Photograph. The film is written and directed by Ritesh Batra (The Lunchbox, Our Souls at Night, The Sense of an Ending) and stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra. The movie is set in Mumbai and centers on a struggling street photographer, pressured to marry by his grandmother, who convinces a shy stranger to pose as his fiancée.
