Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, Home) serves as the score producer of the film written and directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, High Tension, Piranha 3D) and starring Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper. The movie follows a young woman who becomes trapped in a flooding house during a Category 5 hurricane and must battle against Florida’s most savage and feared predators. Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the action drama sequel Backdraft 2. The album features the film’s original music composed and performed by Randy Edelman (The Last of the Mohicans, Dragonheart, Gettysburg, While You Were Sleeping, Kindergarten Cop). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 10 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes. A CD version will be released by Intrada Records and will be available to order here. Marvel Music and Hollywood Records will release a new soundtrack album for Marvel’s Freeform’s original series Cloak & Dagger. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, A River Runs Through It, Miracle, The Accountant). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow and will be available to download here. Walt Disney Records will release the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Symphonic Suite composed by John Williams (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws, E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark, Schindler’s List, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone). The composer wrote the suite for the new themed land at Disney’s theme parks in Anaheim, California (opening to the public on May 31) and Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida (opening on August 29) and recorded it last year with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, conducted by William Ross. Deutsche Grammophon will release the official soundtrack album for the HBO mini-series Chernobyl. The show’s original music is composed by Hildur Gudnadottir (Joker, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Mary Magdalene, Strong Island). A first track from the composer’s score (Bridge of Death) will be released as a digital single tomorrow (click here to download).
