The album features selections of the original music from the show composed and produced by Golden Globe nominee Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Martian) and Stephanie Economou (Step Up: High Water). Hildur Gudnadottir Wins BAFTA Award for ‘Joker’

Hildur Gudnadottir has received her first BAFTA Award for her music for Joker in the Original Score category today at the Orange British Academy Film Awards ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London. She previously received the Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award for her work on the Todd Phillips-directed movie and is also nominated for an Academy Award. Gudnadottir was nominated alongside Thomas Newman (1917), Alexandre Desplat (Darkest Hour), Michael Giacchino (Jojo Rabbit) and John Williams (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker). Also premiering tomorrow is the HBO docu-series McMillions directed by James Lee Hernandez & Brian Lazarte and executive produced by Mark Wahlberg. The 6-parter, which centers on the con that allowed one man to rig the results of McDonald’s popular Monopoly game for an entire decade, will air every Monday night on HBO. ‘Star Trek: Picard’ Season 1 – Chapter 1 Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release the first soundtrack album for the CBS All Access original series Star Trek: Picard. The album features selections of the original music from the first part of the show’s first season composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Star Trek: Discovery, Fargo, The Night Of, Legion, The Umbrella Academy), including the composer’s end title theme. Also featured are two tracks from Russo’s score for the Short Treks episode Children of Mars. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 7 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the thriller The Rhythm Section directed by Reed Morano and starring Blake Lively, Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown. The film’s original score is composed by Steve Mazzaro (The Boss Baby, Bullet to the Head, Ice Box) and produced by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Inception). Also opening wide is the fantasy horror movie Gretel & Hansel directed by Osgood Perkins and stars Sophia Lillis, Sammy Leakey, Charles Babalola, Alice Krige and Jessica De Gouw. Rob (Maniac, Revenge, Horns, Troy: Fall of a City, Planetarium) has composed the film’s original music. Waxwork Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. The movie follows a spunky, rebellious 14-year-old brought to a weekend getaway by her father in an effort to try to reconnect after her mother’s death, when a group of convicts on the run suddenly invade the lake house.
