Intrada Records has announced a new 4-CD soundtrack set for Kevin Reynolds’ 1991 adventure movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves directed by Kevin Reynolds and starring Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman, Christian Slater, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Alan Rickman. The album features the expanded and remastered original score from the Warner Bros. Pictures/Morgan Creek production composed and conducted by Michael Kamen (Die HardLethal WeaponX-Men, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Band of Brothers), including almost half an hour of previously unreleased music. The first two discs include the composer’s expanded score, the third disc features alternate takes and additional music and the fourth disc includes the assembly of the original 1991 soundtrack album. The film is directed by Rick Rowley (Dirty Wars) and examines the complex relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia, and how the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi amplified entanglements between the two countries. Milan Records has announced a soundtrack album for the HBO limited series We Are Who We Are. The album features 12 tracks from the show’s original score composed by Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) (Queen & Slim, Palo Alto, Mainstream). Also included are four previously released instrumental tracks from composers Julius Eastman and John Adams. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 2, 2020 and will be available to stream/download here. The film is written and directed by Camille Griffin and stars Keira Knightley, Roman Griffin Davis, Matthew Goode, Annabelle Wallis, Lily-Rose Depp, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Lucy Punch, Rufus Jones, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and Davida McKenzie. The movie revolves around an extended family who come together for a Christmas dinner. Ludwig Göransson has won his first Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) category for his score from the episode Chapter 8: Redemption of the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian at today’s fifth and final night of the 2020 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The Academy Award and Grammy Award winner was also Emmy-nominated for the first time this year. The other composers nominated in the category were Labrinth for HBO’s Euphoria, Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans for Netflix’s Ozark, Nicholas Britell for HBO’s Succession and Martin Phipps for Netflix’s The Crown.
