Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the Spanish horror thriller The Convent (El Convento). The album features the film’s original music composed by Hernán González Villamil (Home Team, Simon of the Mountain, Virus:32, Night Watch, Como el mar). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, June 12 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio samples below. The Convent is co-written and directed by Ángel Manuel Chivite & Luis Galindo and stars Ana Álvarez; Maria Mercado and Nahia Bergasa. The movie inspired by true events takes place in mid-18th Century and follows two young girls who enter a North of Spain Christian Convent to unveil the evil true objective that lies behind an apparent tranquility of religious life. The thriller premiered at last year’s Morbido Film Festival and is set to be released in Spanish theaters on July 10. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
