Premiering tonight is the HBO limited series Mare of Easttown created by Brad Ingelsby, directed by Craig Zobel and starring Kate Winslet, Julianne Nicholson, Jean Smart, Evan Peters, Angourie Rice, Guy Pearce, Joe Tippett, Cailee Spaeny, David Denman, John Douglas Thompson, James McArdle, Sosie Bacon, Patrick Murney and Neal Huff. The show’s original music is composed by Lele Marchitelli (The Young Pope, The Great Beauty, Loro). Check out our previous news article to learn more about the 7-part drama, which will air Sundays on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

Premiering on Tuesday, April 20, is the Freeform original series Cruel Summer created by Bert V. Royal and starring Olivia Holt, Chiara Aurelia, Harley Quinn Smith, Froy Gutierrez, Michael Landes, Blake Lee, Allius Barnes and Brooklyn Sudano. Wendy Melvoin & Lisa Coleman (Heroes, Nurse Jackie, Dangerous Minds, Crossing Jordan) are composing the show’s original score. 57th Cinema Audio Society (CAS) Awards Winners Announced

The 57th Annual CAS Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing were given out today at a virtual ceremony. Among the scoring winners honored as part of the sound mixing teams were David Boucher for Pixar’s Soul (scored by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross & Jon Batiste) in the Motion Pictures – Animated category, Lawrence Manchester for Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit (scored by Carlos Rafael Rivera) in the Non-Theatrical Motion Picture or Limited Series category, Stewart Lerman for Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (scored by Sam Phillips & Eric Gorfain) in the Television Series – 1 Hour category and Chris Fogel for Disney+’s The Mandalorian (scored by Ludwig Goransson) in the Television Series – 1/2 Hour category. First Songs from ‘Godfather of Harlem’ Season 2 Soundtrack Released

Epic Records has released the first songs from the second season of the Epix original series Godfather of Harlem. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music platforms are Been To War by Swizz Beatz, DMX & French Montana, as well as Prince Hakeem by India Shawn & ADÉ. Also listen to both tracks below. More songs from the new season are expected to come out over the next couple of weeks. The label has previously released multiple digital singles featuring the songs from the show’s first season. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced the performers of the Oscar-nominated original songs, which will be performed during the lead-in show, Oscars: Into the Spotlight, prior to the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday, April 25. Celeste & composer Daniel Pemberton will perform Hear My Voice from Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7, H.E.R. will perform Fight for You from Shaka King’s Judas and the Black Messiah, Laura Pausini & Diane Warren will perform Io Si (Seen) from Eduardo Ponti’s The Life Ahead, Leslie Odom, Jr. will perform Speak Now from Regina King’s One Night in Miami… and Molly Sandén will perform Húsavík from Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. Opening in select theaters today is the horror movie In the Earth written and directed by Ben Wheatley and starring Joel Fry, Reece Shearsmith, Ellora Torchia and Hayley Squires. The film’s original music is composed by Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Fountain, Noah, Rebecca, Moon, Titans, Doom Patrol). Lakeshore Records & Invada Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the drama Monday co-written and directed by Argyris Papadimitropoulos and starring Sebastian Stan, Denise Gough, Yorgos Pirpassopoulos and Dominique Tipper. Alexis Grapsas (Trigonometry, Big Shot, Teacher) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score next Friday, April 23. ‘Kid 90’ Soundtrack Album Released

Linda Perry (of of the former rock band 4 Non Blondes) (Citizen Penn, Punky Brewster) has released a soundtrack album for the Hulu documentary Kid 90. The album features the singer/songwriter’s original score and several  original songs (including The Letter, which has previously been released as a digital single) from the film. Visit Amazon or any other major digital music store to stream/download the album and to check out audio samples. Kid 90 is directed by Soleil Moon Frye who – as a teenager in the 90s – carried a video camera everywhere she went documenting her group of friends (including David Arquette, Brian Austin Green and Mark-Paul Gosselaar) as they grew up in Hollywood and New York City. Soundtrack Album for ‘Leonardo’ TV Series Released

Lux Vide has released the first soundtrack album for the limited series Leonardo. The album features the original music from the first episodes of the show composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Invincible, The Star). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Leonardo is created by Frank Spotnitz & Steve Thompson and stars Aidan Turner in the title role of Leonardo da Vinci, as well as Giancarlo Giannini, Freddie Highmore, Matilda De Angelis, Robin Renucci, Miriam Dalmazio,Kit Clarke, Antonio DeMatteo and James D’Arcy. Hollywood Records has released a new digital single featuring the National Geographic Theme written by Elmer Bernstein (The Magnificent Seven, To Kill a Mockingbird, Ghostbusters, Airplane, Far from Heaven, The Great Escape), as well as a new version of the theme arranged by Anže Rozman (The Planets, Great Bear Rainforests) and produced by Russell Emanuel for Bleeding Fingers Music. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by Jeff Russo (Star Trek: Picard, Fargo, Legion, The Night Of, Lucy in the Sky, The Umbrella Academy). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out audio samples. The label has previously released two soundtracks featuring Russo’s score from Season 1 and an album featuring the composer’s music from Season 2.
