Opening in around 450 theaters and on VOD today is the drama Wild Mountain Thyme written and directed by John Patrick Shanley and starring Emily Blunt, Jamie Dornan, Jon Hamm, Christopher Walken and Dearbhla Molloy. The film’s original music is composed by Amelia Warner (Mary Shelley, Mum’s List). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song performed by Sinéad O’Connor & more. Opening exclusively on PVOD today is the thriller Songbird co-written and directed by Adam Mason and starring KJ Apa, Sofia Carson, Paul Walter Hauser, Craig Robinson, Demi Moore, Peter Stormare, Bradley Whitford and Alexandra Daddario. Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Bad Boys for Life, The LEGO Batman Movie, His Dark Materials). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as a song by Royale today. Details for ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ Seven Evil Exes Edition Soundtrack Album Announced

ABKCO Records has announced the full details of the new soundtrack album for Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World starring Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Alison Pill, Brandon Routh and Jason Schwartzman. The Seven Evil Exes Edition features both the songs and the original score by Nigel Godrich from the movie. The album, which is being released coinciding with the film’s 10th Anniversary, features twelve previously unreleased tracks, including more performances by Sex Bob-Omb and demos from Beck, as well as Black Sheep by Metric and sung by actress Brie Larson. The 4-Picture Disc LP Collection, which also features notes by both Wright and Godrich, a new double-sided film poster and a coloring page with artwork by Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, will be released on March 26, 2021 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Bradley Denniston, as well as vocal tracks by rapper Marty Grimes and R&B singer/songwriters BJRNCK and Mansa Imani. ‘Soul’ Jazz Album Details

The full details of the jazz album for Pixar’s animated movie Soul have been announced. The album features the original jazz compositions and arrangements from and inspired by the film by Grammy Award nominee Jon Batiste. Also included is his cover of the Curtis Mayfield classic It’s All Right. The soundtrack will be released on vinyl on December 18 (visit Amazon to pre-order). A digital version featuring both the jazz tracks and Trent Reznor’s & Atticus Ross score, which is being released separately on vinyl, will be coming out on the same day. Soul is directed by Pete Docter and stars Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Ahmir Questlove Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Daveed Diggs. The movie follows a middle-school band teacher who gets the chance of a lifetime to play at the best jazz club in town, when he is taken from the streets of New York City to The Great Before – a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks and interests before they go to Earth. Hollywood Records has released the first two songs from the soundtrack for the third season of the ABC drama A Million Little Things. Available now to stream/download is the track Would You Still Know Me written by the show’s composer Gabriel Mann (Modern Family, Rectify, High School Musical: The Musical:The Series) & Geoffrey Nauffts and performed by Lizzy Greene, as well as a cover version of 10,000 Maniacs’ Trouble Me (written by Dennis Drew & Natalie Merchant) performed by Mann himself. Walt Disney Records has announced the full details of the score album for the Pixar animated feature Soul. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winners Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Watchmen, Mank, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). The soundtrack will be released on vinyl next Friday, December 18 and is now available to pre-order here. A digital version, which features both the score and Jon Batiste’s jazz compositions and arrangements, which is also being released separately as a vinyl edition, will be coming out on the same day. The streaming/download link will be added to this article within the next week. Soul is directed by Pete Docter and features the voices of Ahmir Questlove Thompson, Daveed Diggs, Phylicia Rashad, Tina Fey and Jamie Foxx. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Daniel Wohl (Search Party, The Stand In, Shangri-La, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Project Blue Book is created by David O’Leary and stars Aidan Gillen, Laura Mennell, Michael Harney, Ksenia Solo and Michael Malarkey. The drama executive produced by Robert Zemeckis is based on the true, top-secret investigations into Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and related phenomena conducted by the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1969. The full details of the soundtrack album for Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984 have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, The Lion King, Man of Steel, Gladiator, Interstellar, Pirates of the Caribbean). A first track (Themyscira) was released this past summer and a second track (Open Road) is being released today. Disney announced today that Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams and Nicholas Britell will provide the music for studios’ upcoming The Lion King prequel. The film will be directed by Barry Jenkins and will use the same photo-realistic technology from last year’s remake directed by Jon Favreau. No casting announcements have been made yet. Zimmer has previously scored the original 1994 animated The Lion King film, as well as last year’s remake and Williams produced several songs from the 2019 movie. Read the rest of this entry »

The full details of the soundtrack album for the Disney+ movie Safety have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Marcus Miller (Marshall, Boomerang, Everybody Hates Chris, The Ladies Man, About Last Night). Also included is the original song Hold Us Together co-written and performed by by H.E.R. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 11 by Walt Disney Records and will be available to stream/download here. Safety is directed by Reginald Hudlin and stars Jay Reeves, Thaddeus J. Mixson, Matthew Glave, Corinne Foxx, Hunter Sansone, Amanda Warren, Isaac Bell, Miles Burris, Elijah Bell and James Badge Dale.
