East Prussian Archive has released a soundtrack album for the BBC docu-series The Rise of the Murdoch Dynasty. The album features the show’s original music composed by David Schweitzer (Emma, Wonders of Life, Inside North Korea’s Dynasty, Charlie & Lola). Troublemakers will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Dave Not Coming Back. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marc Bell and Gabriel Thibaudeau. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 1 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Dave Not Coming Back is directed by Jonah Malak and centers on two cave divers and long-time friends who – in October of 2004 – explored Boesmansgat, a mythical cave in South Africa, where they found a body and decided to retrieve it. Netflix has announced today that Rupert Gregson-Williams (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Legend of Tarzan, Hacksaw Ridge, The Crown) will compose the original score for the upcoming animated film Back to the Outback. The movie marks the directorial debuts of editor Clare Knight (Kung Fu Panda trilogy, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part) & writer Harry Cripps (Penguin Bloom, The Magic Pudding) and features the voice talent of Isla Fisher, Eric Bana, Guy Pearce, Miranda Tapsell, Angus Imrie, Keith Urban, Rachel House, Celeste Barber, Aislinn Derbez, Diesel Cash La Torraca, Wayne Knight, Lachlan Ross Power and Jacki Weaver, as well as Tim Minchin who is also contributing original songs. The animated feature follows a ragtag group of Australia’s deadliest creatures as they plot a daring escape from their zoo to the Outback, a place where they’ll fit in without being judged for their scales and fangs. Hildur Guðnadóttir (Joker, Chernobyl, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Mary Magdalene) confirmed at today’s first panel at Variety’s Music for Screens Summit that she will be scoring director David O. Russell’s next, currently untitled, feature. The film is written and directed by O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, Three Kings) and stars Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and John David Washington. No plot details have been announced. Matthew Budman (Detroit, Spree) is producing the New Regency production. Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki serves as the director of photography of the project, which marks Guðnadóttir’s first feature scoring assignment following her Academy Award-winning score for Todd Phillips’ Joker. Premiering tonight is the Showtime documentary My Psychedelic Love Story directed by Errol Morris. The film’s original music is composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Dynasty, Tales from the Loop, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D) who previously collaborated with Morris on the Netflix series Wormwood and the features The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman’s Portrait Photography and American Dharma. The movie, which examines the notorious high priest of LSD Timothy Leary through the eyes of his famed lover Joanna Harcourt-Smith, premiered at this year’s AFI Fest and will debut exclusively on Showtime.
Premiering on Friday, December 4, is the Disney+ original movie Godmothered directed by Sharon Maguire and starring Isla Fisher, Jillian Bell, Jane Curtin, Jillian Shea Spaeder (who also contributed new songs to the project), Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Willa Skye, Santiago Cabrera, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Artemis Pebdani, Stephnie Weir, June Squibb and Carlease Burke. Rachel Portman (Emma, The Cider House Rules, Chocolat) has composed the film’s original score. Earlier this month, Cho Young-wuk (Oldboy, Lady Vengeance, The Little Drummer Girl, Thirst, The Handmaiden) has recorded his score for the upcoming Chinese spy thriller Impasse. The film is directed by Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers) and stars Zhang Yi, Yu Hewei, Zhu Yawen, Qin Hailu, Ni Dahong and Liu Haocun. The movie centers on the escape of a group of CCP agents who have obtained proof the Japanese are conducting unethical human experiments. Liwei Pang (Shadow, One Second) is producing the project.
