Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is DC Studios’ superhero movie Superman written and directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Skyler Gisondo, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Carrigan, Edi Gathegi and María Gabriela de Faría. The film’s original music is composed by John Murphy (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, 28 Days Later, Sunshine, The Suicide Squad) & David Fleming (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Last of Us, Damsel, Jim Henson: Idea Man). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as two songs this past Tuesday. Opening in semi-wide in a couple of hundred theaters this weekend is the horror movie Abraham’s Boys: A Dracula Story written and directed by Natasha Kermani and starring Titus Welliver, Jocelin Donahue, Judah Mackey, Aurora Perrineau and Brady Hepner. Brittany Allen (What Keeps You Alive, Z, Torn Hearts, American Horror Stories, Scrambled) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Jónsi & Alex Somers Scoring Hikari’s ‘Rental Family’

Sigur Rós lead singer Jónsi (Without Remorse, We Bought a Zoo) and Alex Somers (Captain Fantastic, Nickel Boys, Holland, Honey Boy, Together, Together, Causeway, Dawson City: Frozen Time) are reuniting to score the upcoming comedy drama Rental Family. The film is directed by Hikari (37 Seconds, Beef) and stars Brendan Fraser, Takehiro Hira, Mari Yamamoto, Shannon Gorman and Akira Emoto. The movie follows a lonely, down and out American actor living in Tokyo who starts working for a Japanese “rental family” company to play various stand-in roles in other people’s lives. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is the original song Make It Hot produced by Jarius “JMO” Mozee and written and performed by BJ The Chicago Kid feat. A soundtrack album has been released for the musical drama Singing in My Sleep. The album features the original songs from the film written by Melanie Fontana & Lindgren and performed by lead actors Jessica Belkin & Gavin Leatherwood, as well as six tracks of the movie’s original score composed by Louis Weeks. Alexandre Desplat’s ‘Paris – Hollywood’ Album Announced

Warner Classics will release Paris – Hollywood, a new concert album featuring music composed by Alexandre Desplat. The record features new arrangements of fifteen scores written by the Academy Award-winning composer, performed by the Orchestre de Paris and conducted by Desplat himself. Titles include Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Godzilla, The Imitation Game, Little Women, The Queen, Argo, Syriana, among other films. Sparks & Shadows has released new soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series Foundation. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, The Walking Dead, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander) who has provided the themes and his Sparks & Shadows team. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services.
