Rob Lane has been hired to score the upcoming Sky drama A Discovery of Witches. The show starring Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode is based on Deborah Harkness’ historical fantasy novel of the same title and revolves around a young scholar at Oxford and a descendant of the Salem witches, who accidentally unlocks an enchanted manuscript and enters a forbidden romance with a charming 1,500-year-old vampire. Kate Brooke (Mr Selfridge) serves as the showrunner and is executive producing the project with Harkness and Bad Wolf’s Jane Tranter (The Night Of) & Julie Gardner (Doctor Who, Da Vinci’s Demons).

‘The Goldbergs’ Mixtape to Be Released
Madison Gate Records will release the first official soundtrack album for the ABC hit comedy The Goldbergs. The album features a selections of the songs from the show performed by cast members Hayley Orrantia, Troy Gentile, AJ Michalka and Sam Lerner. Also included is the series’ main title theme Rewind by I Fight Dragons and Kurtis Blow’s D&D from the episode Dungeons & Dragons, Anyone?. The Goldbergs Mixtape will be released digitally tomorrow, December 6 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Goldbergs is created by Adam F. Goldberg and also stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, Sean Giambrone and George Segal.
‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Soundtrack Announced
Lakeshore Records will release the first soundtrack album for the CBS All Access sci-fi drama Star Trek: Discovery. The album features selections of the original music from the first part of the show’s first season composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, The Night Of, Snowfall, Power). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 15. A CD and vinyl version is in the works for a 2018 release. Visit Amazon to pre-order the digital version. Star Trek: Discovery is developed by Alex Kurtzman & Bryan Fuller and stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, James Frain, Michelle Yeoh and Anthony Rapp. The series is set a decade before the events of the original Star Trek series and follows the crew of the USS Discovery during the Federation-Klingon cold war.
Leslie Bohem’s Main Title Theme ‘Walk on Well Lighted Streets’ from ‘Shut Eye’ to Be Released
Madison Gate Records will release the main title theme from the first season of the Hulu original series Shut Eye. The song, Walk on Well Lighted Streets, is written and performed by the show’s creator Leslie Bohem and will be released as a digital single this Wednesday, December 6. Shut Eye starring Jeffrey Donovan, KaDee Strickland, Isabella Rosselini, David Zayas, Susan Misner and Emmanuelle Chriqui is set in the world of storefront psychics in Los Angeles and centers on a disgruntled former player in the world who begins to experience visions.

Premiering on Wednesday, December 6, is the History original series Knightfall created by Don Handfield & Richard Rayner and starring Tom Cullen, Bobby Schofield, Sabrina Bartlett, Julian Ovenden, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Padraic Delaney, Simon Merrells and Olivia Ross. The show’s original music is composed by Andy Price (Robin Hood, Law & Order: UK). The drama chronicles the true accounts of the Knights Templar, the elite warriors of the Crusades during the 14th century. Also premiering on Wednesday is the new Syfy original series Happy! developed by Grant Morrison & Brian Taylor and starring Chris Meloni, Lili Mirojnick, Joseph Reitman, as well as Patton Oswalt as the voice of the title character. Blair Mowat (Class) is composing the show’s original music. The series is based on Morrison’s & Darick Robertson’s graphic novel of the same name and follows an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. John Ottman to Score Animated Series ‘The Gang’s All Here’
John Ottman is attached to compose the music for the upcoming animated series The Gang’s All Here. The show developed by Byron Burton and voice actor Rob Paulsen centers on an animal cast of actors as they star in their own films and navigate the pitfalls of the entertainment industry. Voice actors Kevin Conroy, Cal Dodd and Andrea Romano are also involved in the project. Burton has previously served as an assistant to Ottman and wrote the lyrics to the song Rest Young Child (performed by Michael Fassbender’s Magneto) from X-Men: Apocalypse.
David Cieri’s Score from ‘The Vietnam War’ & Other Documentaries Released
Ropeadope Records has released a new soundtrack album featuring music composed by David Cieri (Oklahoma City) from several docu-series directed by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick & produced by Florentine Films. Notes from the Underscore: 10 Years with Florentine Films includes selections of his scores from this year’s PBS series The Vietnam War, 2011’s Prohibition and 2014’s The Roosevelts: An Intimate History. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon and iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. Separate soundtrack albums for The Vietnam War, featuring Trent Reznor’s & Atticus Ross’ contributions to the series, the pop/rock songs as featured in the show, as well as The Silkroad Ensemble & Yo-Yo Ma’s arrangements of traditional Vietnamese songs have been released earlier this year.
‘The Crown’ Season 2 Soundtrack Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for the second soundtrack album for the Netflix original series The Crown have been revealed. The album features selections from the original music from the show’s second season composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan) who was honored with an Emmy Award nomination for his work on the drama’s first season (available here) and Lorne Balfe (The Lego Batman Movie, Terminator Genisys, Genius, Home). The soundtrack will be physically and digitally on December 8 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

Discovery Channel will release a soundtrack album for the critically acclaimed series Manhunt: Unabomber. Netflix’s ‘Lost in Space’ to Feature Music by Christopher Lennertz
This week, Christopher Lennertz is recording his score for multiple episodes of the upcoming Netflix original series Lost in Space. The show based on the 1960s sci-fi classic stars Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Ignacio Serricchio, Taylor Russell, Maxwell Jenkins, Parker Posey and Mina Sundwall.The drama follows the Robinson family as they must come together to survive when they are stranded light years from their destination.
