Disney+ announced this week that Vincent Artaud is scoring the upcoming animated series Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life. The show is executive produced by Marc du Pontavice (I Lost My Body, Close Enemies) and features the voices of Matthew Géczy, Kaycie Chase, Bill Farmer, Sylvain Caruso, David Gasman and Cindy Lee Delong. The animated comedy follows two tiny troublemakers, Chip and Dale, in their perpetual pursuit of acorns, who are joined by Pluto, Butch and other iconic Disney characters as they face down bullies great and small. Soundtrack Album for Apple TV+’s ‘Physical’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series Physical. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Isabella Summers (of Florence + the Machine) (Little Fires Everywhere, Panic, Paradise City). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, June 18 and will be available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Physical is created by Annie Weisman and stars Rose Byrne, Rory Scovel, Dierdre Friel, Lou Taylor Pucci, Della Saba, Paul Sparks and Ashley Liao. The dramedy is set in the idyllic but fragile beach paradise of sunny 1980s San Diego and follows a quietly tortured housewife supporting her smart but controversial husband’s bid for state assembly as she finds an unconventional path to power through the world of aerobics.
‘Flack’ Season 2 Soundtrack EP Released
Dharma Records has released a new soundtrack EP for the Amazon original series Flack. The EP features five songs from the show’s second season written by Alexander Wolfe. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here. Also listen to all five tracks below. The label has previously released an EP featuring four songs from the show’s first season earlier this year. Flack is created by Oliver Lansley and stars Anna Paquin, Lydia Wilson, Sophie Okonedo, Genevieve Angelson, Rebecca Benson, Marc Warren, Arinzé Kene, Rufus Jones and Andrew Leung. Season 2 of the comedy drama, which follows four quick-witted and relentless flackers who are tasked to make the best of their celebrity client’s terrible decisions, just made its U.S. debut last week on Amazon Prime.
Paramount+’s ‘iCarly’ Revival Series to Feature Music by Gabriel Mann & Niv Toar
Gabriel Mann (Modern Family, A Million Little Things, Rectify, Rosewood) & Niv Toar (School of Rock, Alexa & Katie) are scoring Paramount+’s new iCarly revival series. The show is developed by Ali Schouten based on the Nickelodeon sitcom, which ran from 2007-2012, and stars Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress who reprise their roles from the original series. They are joined by new cast members Laci Mosley and Jaidyn Triplett. The comedy follows Carly Shay, the original influencer, and her friends as they navigate work, love and their family in their twenties.
Jeff Morrow Scoring Apple TV+’s ‘Who Are You, Charlie Brown?’
Jeff Morrow (Ibiza, Science Fair, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, Trolls Holiday, Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado) has recently scored the new Apple TV+ documentary special Who Are You, Charlie Brown?. The special is narrated by Lupita Nyong’o and centers on the late Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz. The documentary is directed by Michael Bonfiglio (From the Ashes) and features interviews with friends, family, cartoonists and famous fans of the comic strip, including Jean Schulz, the widow of Charles Schulz, Drew Barrymore, Kevin Smith, Billie Jean King, Al Roker, Paul Feig, Ira Glass, Noah Schnapp and Keith L. Williams.
Gustavo Santaolalla & Tim Davies to Compose Music for Netflix’s ‘Maya and the Three’
Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, 21 Grams) & Tim Davies (Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia) have teamed up to compose the music for the upcoming Netflix animated limited series Maya and the Three. Santaolalla is providing the themes and Davies is composing the original score for the show created, executive produced and directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez. The 9-parter tells the story of a warrior princess who embarks on a quest to fulfill an ancient prophecy and save humanity from the vengeful gods of the underworld.
Craig Wedren & Anna Waronker Scoring The CW’s ‘The Republic of Sarah’
Craig Wedren (Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer, School of Rock, GLOW, How to Be a Latin Lover) & Anna Waronker (Shrill) are the composers of the new CW drama The Republic of Sarah. The show is created by Jeffrey Paul King and stars Stella Baker, Luke Mitchell, Hope Lauren, Nia Holloway, Ian Duff, Forrest Goodluck, Landry Bender, Izabella Alvarez and Megan Follows. The series centers on a rebellious high school history teacher who is faced with the destruction of her town at the hands of a mining company and utilizes an obscure cartographical loophole to declare independence.
Daveed Diggs’ ‘Weehawken’ from ‘Central Park’ Season 2 Soundtrack Released
Hollywood Records has released the first song from the soundtrack for the second season of the Apple TV+ animated series Central Park. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music platforms is Weehawken written by Josh Meyers, Andrew Meyers & Andy Hartpence and performed by Daveed Diggs. Clint Mansell & Kevin Kiner to Score HBO Max’s ‘Peacemaker’
Writer/director James Gunn has revealed that composers Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Fountain, Moon) & Kevin Kiner (Star Trek: The Clone Wars & Rebels, CSI: Miami) are teaming up to co-score the upcoming HBO Max original series Peacemaker. The show is developed and directed by Gunn based on his upcoming feature The Suicide Squad (scored by John Murphy) and the character created by Joe Gill & Pat Boyette and stars John Cena in the title role. Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma and Chukwudi Iwuji are co-starring in the series, which will explore the origins of the Peacemaker character, a man who believes in peace at any cost – no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.
