Marco Beltrami (Logan, A Quiet Place, Scream, 3:10 to Yuma, Hellboy, The Hurt Locker) and Miles Hankins (Len & Company, Being Serena) have teamed up to score the new Hulu limited series Nine Perfect Strangers. The show is deeveloped by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, The Practice, The Undoing) & John Henry Butterworth (Edge of Tomorrow, Ford v Ferrari) based on the New York Times bestselling book by Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies) and stars Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Samara Weaving, Regina Hall, Asher Keddie, Melvin Gregg, Grace Van Patten, Tiffany Boone and Manny Jacinto. The drama takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living and have no idea what is about to hit them.

Premiering on Wednesday, August 11, is Marvel Studios’ animated series What If…? developed by A.C. Bradley and starring Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Angela Bassett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benicio Del Toro, Bradley Whitford, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, Evangeline Lilly, Hayley Atwell, Jeremy Renner, Jon Favreau, Josh Brolin, Karen Gillan, Kat Dennings, Kurt Russell, Mark Ruffalo, Michael B. Also premiering on Wednesday is the Netflix original film The Kissing Booth 3 directed by Vince Marcello and starring Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, Molly Ringwald, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Meganne Young and Stephen Jennings. Patrick Kirst (Inherit the Viper, Breaking Surface, Grace Stirs Up Success, Convergence) who previously scored the first two installments has composed the movie’s original music. The romantic comedy, which follows Elle as she plans the ultimate bucket list to make the most of her final summer before college, will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
Ian Hultquist Scoring Showtime’s ‘UFO’
Ian Hultquist (Assassination Nation, Good Girls, Animals, Die in a Gunfight, A-X-L, Yes, God, Yes) has composed the original score for the new Showtime docu-series UFO. The show is directed by Mark Monroe (The Dissident, Morning Light) & Paul Crowder (The Last Play at Shea) and explores our fascination with unidentified flying objects, and what clandestine influence the American government, lucrative private companies and the military may have in shielding the truth behind extraterrestrial phenomena to further their own agendas.
‘Schmigadoon!’ Episode 5 Soundtrack Released
Milan Records has released the fifth soundtrack for the Apple TV+ original series Schmigadoon! The album features the original songs (Suddenly (Melissa Reprise), Tribulation & I Always, Always, Never Get My Man) from the fifth episode of the show written by Cinco Paul (Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax), as well as four score cues composed by Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, Veep, The Personal History of David Copperfield). The soundtrack is now available to stream and download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Also listen to all the songs after the jump. The label has previously released the music from Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3 & Episode 4 earlier this month and a final soundtrack for the sixth episode will be coming out next Friday.
‘Modern Love’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Announced
Milan Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the Amazon anthologhy series Modern Love. The album features both score music and original songs from the show’s second season. Executive music producer Gary Clark and series showrunner, director, writer & executive producer John Carney have written both instrumental music and original vocal tracks featuring performances by Rosie Carney, Nerina Pallot, John Byrne and ANDERMO. The record also features songs written and performed by Andy Shauf, Chong the Nomad, Morcheeba’s Skye Edwards, Clark and Gregor Philip, as well as score tracks by Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Indignation), Philip and Brian Byrne (Albert Nobbs, Boychoir). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, August 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first score track by Wadley (Good for Both of Us) is already available to stream/download now and can be checked out below. Decca Classics has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the first season.
Soundtrack Album for Amazon’s ‘El Cid’ Released
Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish Amazon original series El Cid. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first two seasons composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, 21 Grams) & Alfonso G. Aguilar (Klaus, Perdida, You Shall Not Sleep, O21). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. El Cid is created by José Velasco & Luis Arranz and stars Jaime Lorente, Álvaro Rico, Jaime Olías, Alicia Sanz, Juan Echanove and Amparo Alcazar. The historical drama tells the story of the legendary medieval war hero, whose deeds inspired one of the most important of medieval Spanish epic poems, El Cantar de Mio Cid.
Soundtrack Album for Apple TV+’s ‘Mr. Corman’ to Be Released
Apple Video Programming will release a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series Mr. Corman. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s first season composed by Nathan Johnson (Knives Out, Brick, Looper, The Brothers Bloom, Don Jon, Kill the Messenger). Also included are songs performed by series creator/star Joseph Gordon-Levitt and cast members Debra Winger, Juno Temple and Bobby Hall a.k.a. Logic. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 6 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon or any other major digital music stores. Mr. Corman is written and directed by Gordon-Levitt and also stars Arturo Castro, Hector Hernandez Jamie Chung and Shannon Woodward. The comedy follows a man whose lifelong dream of a career in music didn’t pan out and finds himself teaching fifth grade at a school in the San Fernando Valley.
Joshua Moshier Scoring Apple TV+’s ‘The Shrink Next Door’
Joshua Moshier (Baskets, Happy Anniversary, Special, Looney Tunes Shorts, Dragons: Rescue Riders) is scoring the upcoming Apple TV+ original series The Shrink Next Door. The show is based on the podcast of the same name by Joe Nocera and stars Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Kathryn Hahn and Casey Wilson. relationship between psychiatrist to the stars Dr. Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf and his longtime patient Martin “Marty” Markowitz and explores how a seemingly normal doctor-patient dynamic morphs into an exploitative relationship.
Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans Scoring Netflix’s ‘Pieces of Her’
Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Boy Erased, The White Tiger, The Gift, The Devil All the Time, Enemy) are composing the original music for the upcoming Netflix original series Pieces of Her. The show is developed by Charlotte Stoudt based on Karin Slaughter’s best-selling novel of the same title and stars Toni Collette, Bella Heathcote, David Wenham, Jessica Barden, Joe Dempsie, Jacob Scipio and Omari Hardwick. The dramatic thriller centers on a young woman whose view of her mother is forever changed when an afternoon outing explodes into violence.
‘The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse’ Soundtrack EP Released
Walt Disney Records has released a new soundtrack EP for the Disney+ animated shorts series The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. The 4-track EP features four new original songs from the show written by series composer Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, The Personal History of David Copperfield, Schmigadoon!). Three of the four tracks (As Long As I’m With You, Bubble Gum Day & Feelin’ the Love) are co-written by Elyse Willis.
