The Scottish post-rock band Mogwai is set to score an untitled Apple TV+ docuseries about the rise and fall of former Nissan and Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn. The 4-parter is directed by James Jones (On the President’s Orders) and – with the involvement of the people who were there, alongside the reporting of WSJ reporters Nick Kostov & Sean McLain – will tell the full story of how one of the most admired businessmen on the planet became its most famous international fugitive. James Gay-Rees (Amy, Senna, 1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything), Paul Martin (Diego Maradona, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, The Kings) and Martin Conway (Becoming You) are executive producing the Box to Box Films production.

Ben Onono Scoring BBC’s ‘Ridley Road’
Ben Onono (Half of a Yellow Sun, Spell, Safe, Paranoid, Trust Me) has composed the original score for the new BBC series Ridley Road. The show is written by Sarah Solemani based on the novel of the same title by Jo Bloom and stars Agnes O’Casey, Tom Varey, Rory Kinnear, Tamzin Outhwaite, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Eddie Marsan, Samantha Spiro and Rita Tushingham. The 4-part thriller is set against the backdrop of a swinging sixties London and tells the story of a young Jewish woman who – after falling in love with a member of the ‘62 Group – infiltrates the NSM, a neo-Nazi movement which is becoming increasingly prominent in the city.
Chris Stracey & Este Haim Scoring Netflix’s ‘Maid’
Chris Stracey and Este Haim (of the Grammy Award-nominated band HAIM) have teamed up to compose the original music for the new Netflix limited series Maid. The show is created by Molly Smith Metzler and stars Margaret Qualley, Andie MacDowell, Nick Robinson, Anika Noni Rose, Tracy Vilar, Billy Burke and Rylea Nevaeh Whittet. The drama is inspired by the New York Times best-selling memoir, Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive, by Stephanie Land and revolves around a young mother who – after fleeing an abusive relationship – finds a job cleaning houses as she fights to provide for her child and build them a better future.
Carlos Rafael Rivera Scoring Disney+’s ‘Just Beyond’
Carlos Rafael Rivera (The Queen’s Gambit, Godless, A Walk Among the Tombstones, Hacks) is the composer of the new Disney+ original anthology series Just Beyond. The show is created by Seth Grahame-Smith (The Lego Batman Movie, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) inspired by the writings of R.L. Stine (Goosebumps, Fear Street) and tells stories of a reality just beyond the one we know. Each episode introduces viewers to a new cast of characters who must go on a journey of self-discovery in a supernatural world of witches, aliens, ghosts and parallel universes.
‘Ada Twist, Scientist’ Soundtrack EP Released
Milan Records has released a soundtrack EP for the Netflix animated series Ada Twist, Scientist. The soundtrack features six songs from the show written by Kay Hanley, Michelle Lewis & Dan Petty, including the theme song (performed by Renée Elise Goldsberry), which has previously been released as a digital single. The EP is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Also listen to all six songs below. Soundtrack Album for Apple TV+’s ‘Wolfboy and the Everything Factory’ Released
Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ animated series Wolfboy and the Everything Factory. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed Xav Clarke (Elliot from Earth), as well as the theme song Excaliboom by Clap! Clap! (aka Cristiano Crisci). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other major digital music services. Wolfboy and the Everything Factory is inspired by the work of visual artist Toff Mazery, co-created by Edward Jesse, developed by Michael Ryan, executive produced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and features the voices of Kassian Akhtar, Archie Yates, Lilly Williams, Cristina Milizia and Gordon-Levitt himself.
Daniel Pemberton Scoring National Geographic’s Disney+ Series ‘Welcome to Earth’
Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Birds of Prey, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Enola Holmes, Ocean’s 8) is composing the original music for National Geopgrahic’s upcoming Disney+ docuseries Welcome to Earth. The show is hosted by Will Smith and follows the actor/filmmaker on an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime adventure around the world to explore Earth’s greatest wonders and reveal its most hidden secrets. In each episode, he is guided by elite explorers to get up close and personal with some of the most thrilling spectacles on the planet.
