H. Scott Salinas is reteaming with director Matthew Heineman on the upcoming biographical drama A Private War. The film starring Rosamund Pike, Jamie Dornan, Stanley Tucci and Tom Hollander chronicles the life of the late American-born British war reporter Marie Colvin. Arash Amel (Grace of Monaco, The Titan) wrote the screenplay based on Marie Brenner’s 2012 Vanity Fair story Marie Colvin’s Private War. Heineman is also producing the project with Matthew George (Wind River) for Acacia Entertainment, alongside Basil Iwanyk (The Town, Sicario) for Thunder Road Pictures, Marissa McMahon for Kamala Films and Charlize Theron (Atomic Blonde) for Denver & Delilah.

Alexander Bornstein to Score ‘First to the Moon’ & ‘Foreign Exchange’
Alexander Bornstein has been tapped to score the upcoming documentary First to the Moon. The film is directed by Paul J. Hildebrandt (Fight for Space) and tells the story of the Apollo 8 mission and the three men that crewed it. The movie features extensive, all new interview footage with Commander Frank Borman, Lunar Module Pilot Bill Anders and Command Module Pilot Jim Lovell and will contain restored footage from NASA, the national archives, and the astronauts themselves.
Brian Tyler & John Carey Scoring Adam Robitel’s ‘Escape Room’
Brian Tyler and John Carey are co-scoring the upcoming psychological thriller Escape Room. The film is directed by Adam Robitel (Insidious: The Last Key, The Taking of Deborah Logan) and stars Deborah Ann Woll, Logan Miller, Taylor Russell, Jessica Sutton and Tyler Labine. The movie revolves around six strangers who find themselves in circumstances beyond their control and must use their wits to survive. Neal Moritz (21/22 Jump Street, I Am Legend) and Ori Marmur (Passengers, Jack the Giant Slayer) are producing the Original Films production.
Rob Lord to Score Bert & Bertie’s ‘Troupe Zero’
Rob Lord (Slipstream) has signed on to score the upcoming comedy drama Troupe Zero. The film is directed by Bert & Bertie and stars Viola Davis, Allison Janney, Mckenna Grace, Mike Epps, Jim Gaffigan, Charlie Shotwell, Edi Patterson and Bella Higginbotham. The Amazon Studios production follows a group of elementary school kids who start a Girl Scout troupe. Lucy Alibar (Beasts of the Southern Wild) wrote the screenplay. Todd Black (Fences, The Pursuit of Happyness, The Equalizer) is producing the project.
Kris Bowers Scoring Peter Farrelly’s ‘Green Book’
Kris Bowers is scoring the upcoming drama Green Book. The film is directed by Peter Farrelly (There’s Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber, Me, Myself & Irene) and stars Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali and Linda Cardellini. The movie is set in 1962 and tells the true story of the growing friendship between Tony Lip, a nightclub bouncer who’s been hired to chauffeur the highly-educated African-American piano-playing prodigy Dr. Don Shirley through the Deep South on a concert tour.
Kevin Lax Scoring ‘The First Purge’
Kevin Lax has composed the original score for the fourth installment in The Purge series, The First Purge. The film is directed by Gerard McMurray and stars Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez and Marisa Tomei. The movie is a prequel and focuses on the events that lead up to the very first Purge event. James DeMonaco who directed the first three installments has written the screenplay and is also producing the project with Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum (Get Out, Paranormal Activity, Insidious) and Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller & Andrew Form (A Quiet Place, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), as well as Sébastien K. Lemercier.
Nima Fakhrara to Score John Stalberg Jr.’s ‘Crypto’
Nima Fakhrara is set to score the upcoming thriller Crypto. The film is directed by John Stalberg Jr. (High School) and stars Beau Knapp, Alexis Bledel, Kurt Russell, Luke Hemsworth, Jeremie Harris and Vincent Kartheiser. The movie revolves around a young anti-money laundering agent tasked with investigating a tangled web of corruption and fraud in his remote New York hometown, where his father and brother are struggling to maintain their family farm in a changing economic landscape.
Junkie XL Scoring ‘Mortal Engines’ Movie Adaptation
Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg) has recently recorded his music for the upcoming film adaptation of Mortal Engines. The film is directed by Christian Rivers and stars Hugo Weaving Hera Hilmar, Robert Sheehan, Jihae, Ronan Rafterty, Leila George, Patrick Maladhide and Stephen Lang. The movie based on Philip Reeve’s book of the same title is set thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event and cities survive a now desolate Earth by moving around on giant wheels attacking and devouring smaller towns to replenish their resources.
Pinar Toprak to Score ‘Captain Marvel’
Pinar Toprak has announced that she is set to score Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel. The film is directed by Ryan Fleck & Anna Bowen (Half Nelson, Mississippi Grind) and stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, Mckenna Grace, Clark Gregg and Jude Law. The movie follows the title character as she turns into one of the galaxy’s mightiest heroes after the Earth is caught in the center of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds.
Michael Stearns & Joseph S. DeBeasi Scoring Albert Hughes’ ‘Alpha’

The film is directed by Albert Hughes (Menace 2 Society, From Hell) and stars Kodi Smit-McPhee and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhanness. The movie is set 20,000 years ago in Europe during the Upper Paleolithic period and centers on a young man’s friendship with a wolf. Daniele Sebastian Wiedenhaupt wrote the screenplay based on a story by Hughes who is also producing the Studio 8 production with Andrew Rona (Non-Stop, The Commuter).
