Premiering on Wednesday, December 4, is the new TNT original series Mob City created by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Walking Dead) and starring Jon Bernthal, Ed Burns, Neal McDonough and Jeremy Luke. The drama’s original score is composed by Mark Isham (Once Upon a Time, Crash) who has previously collaborated with Darabont on the features The Majestic and The Mist. The show is based on the real-life accounts of the cops and gangsters of Los Angeles in the 1940s and tells the story of the violent crime underbelly of America’s most glamorous city and those who wanted to control it. Steve Jablonsky & Nathan Whitehead to Score TNT’s ‘The Last Ship’
Steve Jablonsky and Nathan Whitehead have signed on to compose the music for the upcoming TNT original series The Last Ship. Jablonsky is composing the main themes and Whitehead is providing the score for the show created by Hank Steinberg (Without a Trace) and Steven Kane (The Closer) and starring Eric Dane, Rhona Mitra, Adam Baldwin and Tracy Middendorf. The drama opens with a global catastrophe that nearly decimates the world’s population and follows the crew of a lone naval destroyer who must find a way to pull humanity from the brink of extinction. Michael Bay is producing the project with his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form (A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Amityville Horror), alongside Steinberg and Kane.

Premiering tomorrow, June 10 is the new TNT drama King & Maxwell based on the bestselling series of books by author David Baldacci, developed for television by Shane Brennan (NCIS: Los Angeles) and starring Jon Tenney, Rebecca Romijn, Michael O’Keefe, Chris Butler and Ryan Hurst. The show follows two disgraced Secret Service agents who start their own private investigative firm. Eric Colvin (Monte Walsh) is composing the original score for the drama. Brennan is producing the CBS Television Studios production with Grant Anderson (Third Watch) and Chris Downey (Leverage). King & Maxwell will air every Monday night on TNT. Danny Lux to Score TNT’s ‘Monday Mornings’
Danny Lux has been tapped to score the new TNT original series Monday Mornings. The drama is created by David E. Kelley and stars Alfred Molina, Ving Rhames, Jamie Bamber, Jennifer Finnigan, Bill Irwin, Keong Sim, Sarayu Rao and Emily Swallow. The show based on a novel by practicing neurosurgeon and CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta is set at the fictional Chelsea General Hospital in Portland, Oregon and follows the lives of a group of doctors as they push the limits of their abilities and confront their personal and professional failings. Kelley is executing producing the show with Gupta and Bill D’Elia (The West Wing, The Practice) who also directed the pilot. Lux has previously scored several shows for Kelley, including the Emmy-winning hit shows Ally McBeal and Boston Legal, and most recently the second season of NBC’s Harry’s Law.
Mark Isham to Score TNT’s ‘L.A. Noir’
Mark Isham is scoring the upcoming TNT original series L.A. Noir. The show created by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) and based on on the book L.A. Noir: The Struggle For The Soul Of America’s Most Seductive City by John Buntin chronicles the battle between Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker and mobster Mickey Cohen, a one-time boxer who rose to the top of LA.s criminal world during the 1940’s & 1950’s. The series stars Jon Berthnal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Jeremy Strong, Neal McDonough, Milo Ventimiglia, Ron Rifkin, Pihla Viitala and Alexa Davalos. Darabont who has previously collaborated with Isham on the feature films The Mist and The Majestic directed the pilot episode and is executive producing the project with Michael De Luca (The Social Network) and Elliott Webb (Tall Time Tales).
James Levine Scoring TNT’s ‘Major Crimes’
James Levine is scoring the new TNT crime drama Major Crimes. The show is a spin-off of the hit procedural The Closer, which will air its series finale next Monday, August 13. The series stars Mary McDonnell, G. W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz and Phillip P. Keene who are all reprising their roles from The Closer. They are joined by new cast members Kearran Giovanni and Graham Patrick Martin. James Duff, Michael M. Robin, Rick Wallace and Greer Shephard are executive producing the show. Levine whose TV scoring credits include such hit shows as Glee, Nip/Tuck, Damages, Rizzoli & Isles and American Horror Story has written the music for all seven seasons of The Closer.
‘Franklin & Bash’ Soundtrack Announced
Madison Gate Records has announced a soundtrack EP for the TNT series Franklin & Bash. The release features six original songs from the show performed by Pete, including the opening title song Mixture. The six-track EP is set to be released on August 14, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes. Franklin & Bash created by Kevin Falls and Bill Chais stars Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as two lawyers and lifelong friends who are recruited by a large firm’s major partner after winning a high-profile case. Malcolm McDowell , Dana Davis, Kumail Nanjiani and Reed Diamond are also starring. The comedy drama series premiered last summer and the final episodes of the second season currently air every Tuesday night on TNT.
Tree Adams to Score ABC’s ‘Nashville’ Pilot
Tree Adams has signed on to score the ABC drama pilot Nashville. The show stars Connie Briton as the 40-year-old Nashville fading superstar Rayna James whose label requires her to team up with a teen sensation, played by Hayden Panettiere, or else face the loss of her own tour and the label’s promotion of her latest record, whose sales have been underwhelming. Powers Boothe, Eric Close, Jonathan Jackson and Charles Esten are co-starring. The drama is created by Academy Award winner Callie Khouri (Thelma & Louise) who is also producing the project with R.J. Cutler (The September Issue) and Steve Buchanan. Cutler is also directing the pilot.
