Jeff Russo (Fargo, Alien: Earth, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, For All Mankind, Zero Day, The Night Of, Legion, Ripley, The Man Who Feel to Earth) is scoring the upcoming Apple TV limited series Cape Fear. The show is created by Nick Antosca (Candy, Antlers) and stars Javier Bardem, Amy Adams, Patrick Wilson, Joe Anders, CCH Pounder, Lily Collias, Malia Pyles, Jamie Hector and Anna Baryshnikov. The 10-part psychological horror thriller is based on both the novel The Executioners, which inspired Gregory Peck’s Universal Pictures 1962 feature (scored by Bernard Herrmann), as well as Martin Scorsese’s 1991 remake (featuring music by Herrmann adapted by Elmer Bernstein) and follows two happily married attorneys whose lives are shattered when the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars is let out of prison.

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Paramount+ original series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Alien: Earth, The Night Of, Legion, Ripley, For All Mankind, Zero Day, The Man Who Feel to Earth). Also included is Rufus Wainwright’s cover version of San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flower Covers in Your Hair) as featured in the first episode, which is embedded after the jump. The 8-part drama tells the story of he eponymous American college student who arrives in Italy for her study abroad, only to be wrongfully imprisoned for murder weeks later and traces her relentless fight to prove her innocence and reclaim her freedom.
